driving gloves

hi all,

i know this is an unusual request. but i'm looking for some leather driving gloves for my mates 21st ( likes driving his pug 306, but thought'd be kinda funny present. anyway, having heaps of trouble sourcing some. found a few places that have race gloves. and a pair of leather ones on ebay, but would rather see them.

Have you considered a good set of Golfing gloves? They make both left and right handed leather gloves and shouldn't be too dear...

Your local Golf Course will help, as will a major sports chain or specialty golf store.

Why would anybody want to wear gloves when driving a car? Maybe they were useful in the old days when steering wheels were thin rimmed and difficult to get good grip.

Could be just the feel of them too. I can't ride my motorbike without gloves. Even giving it a test blat up the street I will squid bar helmet & the gloves. Maybe it's because I ride a sports bike. Even if I went cruiser, I'd still go the gloves.

May also be handy in summer, hot wheel after being parked up during the day.

He may also have an old car with the skinny wheel. (As above)

Or his mate like getting into pompous character on a Sunday drive complete with flat cap & tartan pants.....

Turns out there is cancer as well!

I have to wear them in some of my cars (those with more sloping windscreens so the sun shine on my hands most of the time) as I have very light skin and being a "ranga" prone to getting skin cancers on the top of my right hand. I'm not alone and that is why the skin cancer foundation sells them.

No; health instead. But I do also own a 1963 EH panel van with the skinny steering wheel.
