FG2 may end up being a collectors item.
Sad sad times.

Territory is its own platform and shares components with Falcon.
2308 cars for the month including down days works out to what, 110 cars/day? I thought it was supposed to be 148 cars/day?? Unless I've added up something wrong.

Plus 10 falcons and 10 Territorys to Nz!
Was 700 Falcon cars in April too wasn't it? Did Ford clamp supply to assist justifying their closure. Read another post saying Falc,s and Tezzas are not in stick at many Bris Ford dealers. |

I doubt Ford were deliberately restricting stock. The reality is mainstream buyers aren't buying them; it is an enthusiast's niche car now, only someone who wants a Falcon is going to get one. Whilst there was an assertion that following the closure announcement there was a 'run' on dealerships for Falcons, it will take some time for all this to filter through to actual sales.

I wonder just how many of those 700 Falcon sales were in fact high
series I-6 Turbos and V8s, would it be ridiculous to suggest 280-300? |

Likewise nobody can justify development budget for that car either --- hence it gets left behind as other cars add features and technology. Sad but a reality of the car game. |

Not sure about the demos, but surely it's an improvement on the Escape!

good to see Focus and Ranger continue to lead the way
Territory in another solid month. Fiesta outselling Falcon, never thought I'd see the day.

I thought that figure for the Fiesta was quite poor as well. With people going to small cars the Fiesta is not really setting the world on fire

Ford couldnt justify closing the plant if Falcon did too well. They aren't even trying anymore.

Get real. It's priced fine and as was stated 2300 cars per month for the year is not that bad when you work out the numbers. If they continue to sell this many for the full year then it's actually worth it. I doubt you'll get that many replacement sales when you import that's for sure. |

What's up with the Mondeo? It's a great car and deserves more than 300 sales.

I can assure you all that ford would be clamping sales. How can you convince someone to buy a Falcon on the day when you dont have any stock and the Holden and Toyota Dealers have 1 in every colour at a discount price. Ford dont want to have excess stock sitting around which ends up being old plated which leads to having to heavilly discount. Than they have to cover warranty costs for the next 3 years on a car they made no money on which is shortly to be discontinued anyway. When i worked for Holden they would flood dealers with stock which made the dealers do whatever it took to clear the cars even if it meant not making 1 cent out of some cars. We regularly had Commodores having there 1st birthday with us only to end up selling them for like $10000 off. But you see we also sold lots of cars with margin in them as we had stock to sell and if a person was looking for a cheap car and didnt care what it was we could just flog them the oldest car on the lot which was a cheap as some used cars.
