Looks great. Hopefully they do a run of cars for Australia. Probably won't though. There's nothing that could stop it except the exhaust has been retuned, which might push it above our legal levels. An extra 15 hp with an open CAI, GT350 inlet manifold and throttle body, and retuned exhaust. |

No one has said it won’t come here.
For what it’s worth, I think it will. It would keep the momentum and halo effect going on with Oz sales. After all Whickman is on the record saying that we have a good chance of getting something special, based on the really good RHD sales here ( which have exceeded all expectations). |

Love the little promo video.
354 kW from an N/A 5.0 engine is very good.

With Mustang selling in such great numbers here (pretty sure we are the no 1 export market) then it gives us greater negotiating power. But I guess we will find out in future. |

I am waiting for the sequel on when she returns to the car and they has slashed her tyres and keyed obscenities into the paintwork down the whole side of the car.
The sad thing is that the commercial wouldn't be able to be shown on Oz Tv, as it would offend the Nanny's.

I thought the leftover tyre marks from the earlier cuts of that reverse burnout takeoff scene was an unprofessional touch.
Unless that’s just meant to be everyone’s reaction when coming to a barricaded off lane, I know it would be my reaction. |

Yeah, no way they'll show this ad in Australia. Harold Scruby will be frothing at the mouth the moment he sees it.

Is it even illegal to drive in such a way in a private car park assuming you have the owners permission?
Lots of Australian ads will show fast driving with loss of traction on dirt roads for example. |

Thank goodness for Ford that hasn't totally forgotten the enthusiasts keen for a V8 in this country without spending all the ankle biters inheritance . Makes me wonder how aggrieved our fellow V8 fans are over at Holden .
Okay , okay Mustangs in general aren't likely to sell as a main stream offering and the special Bullitt one won't be available in big enough numbers to satisfy all but at least some Aussies will get the chance to get one . Imagine if the GT 350 or GT 500 editions were made available .,.Even a few ..That'd be cool too . C'mon GM before it's too late , sling over a nice few Camaro's or Corvettes and Dodge whack out a bunch of Challengers ,Demons or something to give the Mustangs something to battle with and enjoy . Motoring in Oz other than the now done and dusted Falcons and Commodores will be increasingly dull without a few nice new V8 from the land of the free and home of the brave revving up the joint . Maybe healthy orders leads to more specials like GT500, if not maybe a special for our market, like the Bulitt engine and PP2 suspension with MT or AT, call it Boss 351 (Kw)? |

Doubt you could do a handbrake turn in the Australian version, too hard to lean over the passenger side to pull the handbrake on.
What an insult to Australia to leave the handbrake and bonnet catch on the passenger side. Yea, I know, all about money. |

So what exactly are you getting for $6k extra over the previous Mustang, a few extra gears? |

Updated interior trim, upgraded audio system, active exhaust, considerable power upgrade, stronger manual gearbox, new 10 speed auto, better tyres, digital gauge pack, improved suspension settings, safety equipment improvements, tri-bar led DRL's. I'm sure I have left something out but a pretty decent upgrade for the money.

When I’m belting my Mustang down the Ocean Road, the V8 rumble bouncing off the cliffs, all I’m gonna be thinking about is how they didn’t move that handbrake...

From an owners perspective, its actually not a big deal.

The VB-VL, and subsequent VN-VS Commodores all had their handbrake towards the left of the console - from the early Opel LHD origins. Nobody ever whinged about them. I actually found it more useful to have the power window switches beside me, as you use those more than the handbrake. But the bonnet catch - that's just lazy. It drove the guys crazy who had Mondeos at work - when they went to fill the washers up at a servo, and had to go around the passenger side (often right up beside the pump) to open it. It's not that hard to move it across - VB-VL are stamped in both sides to accept the bonnet release, so each market gets it fitted on the correct side. 40 years later Ford still can't come to terms with it? |

I don't know why it has taken Ford this long to release a special edition Mustang in OZ
Make hay while the sun shines. This is one part of the Market where the sun is shinning bright. Get the GT350/500 here while GM/Chrysler are asleep at the wheel.
