Well, recently I spotted a car in the coles carpark where I work on weekends, and thought to myself "hmm, I'll get me some of those!", so I went off to the local dealership on Wednesday, and they arrived this afternoon. It took 2 hours, but half of that time was spent deciding which globe plug to use (I stuck with the EB ones and butchered them to fit), and how to attach the repeaters to the car (superglue... I sure hope I don't blow a globe soon!)
So here's the before and after comparos ;) Casualties: Thumb (damn "friendly fire" stanley knife blade!). PS I know the car is filthy. |

Cheers w4yn3
I was surprised the shape is so similar, they looked much more elongated on the WK. So yes, Ebony has some Holden stuff on her now :P Here's some WK pix for comparison: John: I'm not the biggest fan of the AU repeaters on EA-ED to be honest, but NL repeaters on EF/ELs look mad! I guess it all comes down to personal taste. -Dave- Last edited by mcflux; 24-03-2006 at 08:31 PM. Reason: typ0 |

You know you're meant to wash the area behind them after you take them off?
Don't worry though, I didn't. |

Great stuff Dave, the only other car I've seen the WK lights on was some sort of modified VS Statesman. If you were worrying about blowing globes I could have recommended a nice LED.
Top effort! |

Thanks all for your comments, positive or otherwise
In hindsight I should've made a metal "stencil" which was permanently mounted inside the guard (superglue!), with the WK indicators attaching to those, so that in the unlikely event of blowing a globe, I could simply pull it out like the old one (or like the AU ones). Jack: LED? I'm still stuck in the past! Anyhoo I'll worry about how to deal with a blown globe when (if) it happens. But will probably consider an LED. Robbo: Wash the car? Or even a portion? (it's the principle) -Dave- |

I've burnt more LEDs out than globes.
But that's because I'm stupid and can't figure out resistors :P Stupid stripes are always wrong. Where's the "resistor for the stupid, aussie bloke", Maybe it's just me, but those things are more complex than any engine build :P Mechanicaly I'm fine. Electronicaly I just blow stuff up... :( Nice job, anyway :P |

Well I'll eat my own words. With an assignment due tomorrow morning, I figured it's a good time to wash teh car!!1
So here's some pix including the clear indicators. I'm not a fan of the headlights themselves (as previously mentioned), and hopefully all of this will "work" with BA headlights a-la EA2BA. I also did a "four-bolt conversion" for the front bar. Originally I had two bolts holding it on, at the front, but this pinched the bar in and forced the sides to angle down. So I loosened the nuts, and put two more bolts through the sides. I love drilling through plastic, because I don't break any bits! Anyhoo with a touch of dodgy black paint (applied White-Out style), you can hardly see them. In 2D photos... But they stick out like canine gonads in real life. Meh. -Dave- |

if you cable-tie or tek-screw the bottom of the bar together you'd just about not notice anything wrong with it!
looks good!!! those repeaters look mad too in those pics!..... good stuff |

Thanks for the LED info Jack!
Wayne, the middle portion has been *taped* together. I know, doesn't look right, but it's warped that much that it'll always pop apart, even with zipties :( Tyre shine is for those who have it! I ran out of the stuff months ago...: -Dave- |

Looks awesome Dave. Now you just have to replace that bumper (as good as tape and bolts are, a new one would be nicer). I'll have to get some clear front indicators at some stage as well.
