Well the World cup draw took place this morning and it could not be any worse for the Socceroos. They Drew Brazil, Croatia, And Japan. There is no way they will advance to the next round. England Got a fairly easy draw and are now second favourite to win the cup behind Brazil
This is the full Draw: Group A: Germany Costa Rica Poland Ecuador Group B: England Paraguay Trinidad & Tobago Sweden Group C: Argentina Côte d'Ivoir Serbia & Montenegro Netherlands Group D: Mexico Iran Angola Portugal Group E: Italy Ghana USA Czech Republic Group F: Brazil Croatia Australia Japan Group G: France Switzerland South Korea Togo Group H: Spain Ukraine Tunisia Saudi Arabia Hopefully England will win the cup. Brazil is probably the most likely to though. |

There is a good chance of england winning there group which means they will more than likely play Poland in the next round so they can make it and win quite easily. they Are playing quite well at the moment.

Great, looks like Italy has an easy group too. They have the strongest team they've had for many world cups.

Italy has a TOUGH group and has to finish first in the group to avoid playing Brazil in the next round.
Forza Azzurri Please not an England victory, we would never hear the end of it. |

Fifa ranking dont always mean that much particually at the world cup. Czechs are good but US are NOT in Italys league. Id be very suprised if they can score through Italys defence and keeper as easy as they have with some nations they quilified against. |

Yep we weren't meant to get past Uruguay by many ppl and we did. Never know your luck, if we keep the standard of play there's a good chance against Japan and the Croats. As for the comment about Italy having are hard draw thats a bit overstated ! Good luck fellas with your preparation it will be a pleasure just to see Us on the world stage of Football.

Bring it on. I don't think the pool is that bad, and should produce some great football What a waste of time making it to the world cup, of the greatest game on earth, if only to play the "easiest" teams... :

Australia are capable of beating Japan. They are capable of beating Croatia but if they can draw with Brazil a draw with Croatia might be good enough. On the day we could easily draw with Brazil with the slightest of luck. We dont have a bad record against them. It is silly for people to underate Australia too much. Uruguay is a very good team that we beat {drew with in 180 mins} and with Craig Moore back to help defence and with Viduka and Kewell at their best it wont all be one way as some may think.
Italy doesnt have an easy draw but they have a bloody good team this time around capable of beating anyone. They have always had the best defence but lacked the right combination mid-front, though this time they have plenty of young blood there. In the last World Cup everyone spoke of Argentina and France and forgot about Brazil. Could it be Italy,Argentina and Netherlands everyones forgetting? |

the more i look at the group, the more i think we can progress.
We can beat Japan, we *can* beat Croatia aswell. with a bit of luck we could get 6 points, but i feel us and Croatia are pretty even. Maybe im just being too optimistic, but i can see a round of 16 matchup against either the Italians or the Czechs.

Making it to the World cup is no easy feat in it's self. Have to give the Aussies some credit for getting this far. And as for the pool matches, the top 2 teams from each pool go through. So Australia have a 50% chance of advancing. So while I don't give a toss for wog ball, I will support my country. I would love to see them do well. Anyway, when it's all over we can all go back to watching sports that matter.

Come on Australia! Get behind your team. We are coming to conquer all...
Just ****ed off we didn't get the US in our group so we can show them who is the weakest team in the world cup.

england seem to have the 'chokers' tag in my book, everytime they play they should play well but i havent been seeing it. Remember last world cup?? and our 3-1 victory?
We can beat the Japs (we did in the war, but this is more important : ) croatia will be on the level of uruguay, brazil may be a challenge unless they underestimate us, which people tend to do. I will be cheering my team on in every game, albeit from the couch, but still cheering none the less. CMON AUSSIE!!!!!!!!! : :
