Is there such a thing as a BA GTHO ?

While emailing a guy about a car he has for sale, he told me he has one of these.
I said that I didnt think there was such a thing?
He replied with these details, when I asked him if the stickers were added later?

No all done at the factory, got all the paper work to say so.
only two in NZ and only 27 ever built

Anyone know anything about these?

No they didn't ...... but there are a few around that were done like the above. Not factory nor complianced as a HO. Just a GT with extra bits.

I didn't think there was, as otherwise there wouldn't be the debate about whether FPV sgould use the name again (if they had already used it)
Im wondering about "the paperwork from the factory to prove it". What paperwork would he have? maybe the usual FPV papers without the HO part? or some other shenanigans?
Maybe some private outfit or dealer did a short run of these, adding the shaker & other stuff. There's a suggestion in it's details that it's 320kw. It's registered as a BA GT 5M. Dunno what the 5M is?

its in nz... most probably a dealer special.

they will provide the paperwork saying its like that as new (from the dealer though). they could even have rego'd it as a gtho if they got a friendly person at vtnz.

In all seriousness though, isn't whoever sold him this been a little dishonest? I mean, it seems this guy believes that he has a factory made GTHO, & a little research could've told him otherwise, so that's his own responsibility. But should dealers or other outfits really be putting out paperwork or suchlike that says something is what it isn't?
On 2nd thoughts I think Im taking things a bit too seriously there.
Just kinda seems almost like forgery or fraud to me. I mean replica, sure. But 1 of 27 blah blah blah.
The pic is from the guy who sold it to him, so it wasn't him that cooked all this info up.

Actually there is such a thing. Not delivered directly from ford though. It stands for ba gt Herrod optioned
Ba gt's were modified by herrods and its outlets and sold by ford dealerships.

True but the gt versions had gt on them not xr8. Ive got a photo somewhere of one ive just got to find it (was a white and black "GTHO")

could be a modified GT from HO Phase. They were ones that made the phase 5 XD and do options to BA's too

If they made 27 & put GTHO stickers on it, then yeah, maybe.

It's still a bit beyond belief for me tho, that someone would supposedly do a special run of cars that they didnt own the rights to the use of the name.

No such thing as a BA HO, the closest to a modern GT HO that Ford released is the BF 40th GT R Spec, with it's factory tuned suspension, but it was called an R Spec not HO
