Antique sports cars destroyed in factory complex fire at Arundel, Gold Coast
Robyn Ironside and Jorja Orreal From: The Courier-Mail November 02, 2010 6:46AM ANTIQUE MGs and Porsches have been destroyed in a huge factory fire on the Gold Coast. A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the fire broke out in a factory complex on Kendor St at Arundel about 11.45pm,completely gutting five of the six units in the complex. They included a panel beater and a smash repair business where several antique MGs and Porsches were undergoing work. Police said a lot of earth moving equipment was also destroyed with the damages bill expected to exceed a million dollars. Eight fire appliances responded to the blaze after emergency services were inundate with triple zero calls. She said the complex, which also fronted Brisbane Rd, included Mitre 10. Police said no one was hurt in the fire. Officers are guarding the scene ahead of further investigations by scientific officers today. Thats a shame...
