Hi we have debate raging on the Terri site about fitting front pads some guys are advocating clamping brake hoses and even DBA has a tech quide on you tube showing clamping a hose.
I was always under the impression as a trained mechanic clamping hoses was a big no no as it can damage the reinforcing I have always cracked the bleeder to push back the pistons. do you have any thoughts . http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11316998 |

There are however certain things to be aware of when clamping hoses as any tool that has sharp edges will cut into and damage the brake hose. Also check brake hoses that seem to look worn or frayed as these hoses will generally be softer and may also have further damage caused by hose clamping so there can be issues when doing this but generally speaking it is fine to clamp rubber brake lines.
