Hiya all, been searching around all over but can't find where the glow plugs is location on my 2011 mondeo tdci 2.0 mk4.5. Anyone have link or picture can show me where? So I can change them.
Been a couple months now that engine malfunction light come on after driving for abit, no loss of power, but fuel efficiency definitly have decrease. Two times I've taken it to two difference mechanic, and both time sayglow plugs fail. Car start fine every time but have high fuel consumption first couple minutes, then goes back to relatively normal. Unsure if it's the dpf or glow plugs. But thinking changing the glow plugs first since it's cheapest I persime. Thanks |

See below for location.
The original glow plugs are Bosch P/N 00 250 202 048 but they will set you back $45 each (there are 4 of course). Tridon TGP009 should be a direct replacement for around $26 each. Cheers Russ

Thanks for reply.
Should I look for that on top or bottom of the engine? |

Where can I find the glow plugs on this mondeo? Search everywhere on the net, look though my car, open the injector and shielding underneath the car. I can't find what resemble the diagram.
Able to find for mk4, but for the 2.0 mk4.5 MC. Just can't find anywhere. |

It did take some turning. I used a long breaker bar. You could feel the compression build up and then release. Would of been much easier if I had removed the glow plugs.....

I guess it's up to the individual lol, I thought it were very easy to turn over by hand, but full disclosure, I've turned over 35L and smaller V16/8 and 6cyl MTU/CAT/Komatsu/Detroit/Perkins/DJ, engines so whilst they too are easy with purpose built turning tools, I felt the lil Duratorq 2.0L gave light resistance on the crank with a 600mm breaker bar.

So is there any video, guide on how to remove the plastic intake manifold? Anything I need to watch out for before I start removing the manifold? Does the car need to be jack for the mk 4.5?

Haynes manual is quite good but does not cover Getrag DCT.
https://www.worldofbooks.com/en-au/b...SABEgKgjPD_BwE From that manual I read three bolts hold the upper and lower manifold together, and three nuts hold the lower manifold to the cylinder head. Last edited by rondeo; 09-08-2018 at 06:13 PM. |
