Default New Prado to get Made in China

The production for the new Prado will be in China. It might be local sales only, but then again it could be for all sales. The Prado has definitely some Chinese design cues, so it might as well be made there. A notable bit of news in the article, is the Ford Bronco will be made there for local sales. Maybe if the Bronco ever goes on sale here, this could be the factory it comes from.

This will be the new normal eventually.
I think I’d prefer a normal car made in China over a Chinese car.

Yeah we wont get Chinese made ones.
Toyota will supply from Japan and keep profits to their own business and country.

It’s the same problem with any LHD only Ford, since it wasn’t developed in RHD,
the cost of doing that now is prohibitive versus doing local conversions on imported LHDs.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see Bronco Sport, Maverick, Bronco and Explorer here
but that’s not happening anytime soon without US factory support or enough buyers
to support limited RHD conversion that will add about $30k to each vehicle’s US price.

2020, a Ford Engineer was quoted as saying RHD Bronco was possible but Ford wouldn't commit to it.
