Anyone know any good websites to find cheap flights??
I want to go to London at the start of 2010.....

The above are my favorites I like to check.

Im planning a trip to NZ in the next year or so, so Im keeping an eye out for deals.

Alternatively, check the airlines direct website as sometimes they have cheaper deals not released to other agencies.

Try something like Webjet to search for the flights, but don't book through them as they charge a fee.

I dont know anyone that actually books through them, always use it like you said to see whats available then go straight to the airlines site.

Such a flawed business plan isnt it? Like google charging for search results.

There was a ridiculous fee like $20 for a $60 flight that i remember once!

If you want cheap flights, be prepared to search and book on the same day.

1) Look up any site you want (one I use that hasn't been mentioned as yet is www.travel.com.au).

2) Find a flight you are happy with, go all the way to the final booking stage.

3) Keep that screen in front of you, and get on the phone with your local Flight Centre. If their screen shows the same flight details as yours, they will match that flight and reduce $20 off the ticket.

4) Print out the page by a screen capture and fax / hand it to them as proof (most of the online vendors have blocked Flight Centre from accessing their sites).

I have used this method several times now... and you also get out of paying the booking fee some sites charge.

Ps, if you are flexible with dates broaden your search to the extreme limits you are comfortable with, this can also create a saving of several hundred dollars!

Have a look at Flight Centre flying Korean Air. They are generally the cheapest and they are a good carrier.

We flew with them last year, MEL-ICN-CDG and then back on the same route. The MEL-ICN route was on an Airbus and pretty boring as there was no personal movie thingy for each seat but the ICN-CDG legs on a 747 were great. Food was actually quite nice and the service was great, nearly as great as the amount and quality of the red they had on offer.

I couldn't fault them at all and I will be flying with them again. ICN is a bloody impressive airport too.

Who told you this? I have flown with them several times now and they are on par with Singapore and Emirates.

I think they used to be sub par a fair few years ago before their huge "make over".

what are the korean airway planes like.....im 6'4 and need a fair bit of room....

Well, in terms of space, same as any other carrier flying the same model aircraft. When you check in, request the seat next to the emergency exit, you will need to agree to assist in an evacuation of the plane should it crash, but in turn you get all the legroom you would ever need.

If you are flying economy, the only plane that offers any benefit is the A380 IMO.

I have flown the A380, and although it may only offer an extra few cm of seat width and leg room, the extra space is obvious to regular flyers.

I agree with this comment. I heard its a small premium in price over the regular seats though, but well worth it if you are prepared to help out in the rare case of an emergency.

When the time comes to book a flight to NZ for me, I'll probably look at the Air New Zealand site for flight prices and compare them with Virgin Pacific Air and Qantas.

The sites above are a good reference, but more often than not, the direct airlines are usually the best to book for more savings as mentioned.

If you want those emergency exit rows, make sure you get to the airport nice and early before your flight. As a rule of thumb, we allowed about 3 hours prior to try and get them.
They generally don't give them out online. You'll have to front up at check-in time and ask for them. The airlines like to check to see if you are able bodied to be able to help out in an emergency situation.

That is a dirt cheap flight, well done.

How long is the stop over for? I can offer you some pointers if you want to go into Central Seoul (about 1hr bus ride from Airport).

yeh travel agent said they pay for the accommodation.......supposedly 4 or 5 star hotel........stop over is for 24 hours roughly.....

Ask where it is. My guess will be Inchon, which is the city just outside Seoul. (And why the Airport code is ICN).

Inchon (or Incheon) is a satellite city of Seoul, bit like Wollongong / Richmond is to Sydney.

If you can't change locations, there is a newly opened subway line connecting Inchon to Seoul which will get you into Seoul in around 90 min for around 5,000won (say $4.70). The Bus is faster due to the limited stops, bout 60 min, and costs around 9-10,000won (round $9).

It's a 5 star and it is bloody nice. Unfortunately it's also a 1 hour bus ride from the airport.

Yep right in Seoul, transfers on the "limousine" are included.

If you can try to add a couple of days in Seoul, it's a fascinating place.
