Default Is there any Boss 290 times about

I am taking my ute to the track soon and was wondering what sort of times I might get.
Just had a tune and have 270rwkw (only 20 to go _2: )from the 290. Torque comes on about 3000rpm... Curious ?

Rod managed a 12.6 eventually with his Pursuit, with a few extra mods than the normal bolt ons. Lots of 12.9s, and there are quite a few GTs in the very low 13s. As a target perhaps 13.3 or better. Good luck.

There's not many 290's having a go at the moment. I think Cam did a 13.1 in his auto pursuit within the last month. Remember the ute is quite a bit heavier than the sedan.
As a guide there is a few 260 utes with about 240-250rwkw?????? running 12.9-13.1. I would imagine the XR8 and pursuit is about the same weight.
Also remember that the weather conditions play a big part.
The main thing is have fun trying, because whatever time you run now will not be quick enough in two weeks time LoL. It's a disease!!!!!!!!!!!!! : :

With 270RWKW you would be aiming for a 13.0 or better for sure, but be sure just to have fun, don't get too stressed over times

When Wade got his ripshifter and new clutch combo his times improved quite a bit in his ute, once he got used to it. Apparently they are a good bit of gear.

Spot on Doc....13.35 @112mph.

I think he has just got some Mickey Thomsons and has now finished the exhaust since that ET. Also has been custom tuned sine then and his ripshifter goes in this week....I know he is looking forward to the next event over here in January.

If the missus laughs at you, get her to have a go and then see what she thinks! That could backfire if she beat you though

Yeah, thats not worth the risk, she is a petrol head also :gren:

The rip shift works a treat, I solid mounted mine, Has a little noise/vibration occasionaly but worth it.

My shift from 2nd to 3rd was crap, now its quick and clean with the flick of the wrist (almost). Did take a little getting used to.

I realy need to drive a standard shift again to remind me what it was like.

Don't do it son don't do it.....

Our 6 speed shifter was the development one for Rip Shift and we had shifters in and out about 3 times and it was just terrible. There's nothing quite like a rip shifter that's for sure...... :

I ran a 13.1 in mine with some torque reductions still in place.
Getting it fixed next week at G & D, will take it out in the new year sometime and get it in the 12's hopefully
