Hazards of the job...
Stormchasers aren't just thrill seekers...they contribute to our knowledge of how storms and tornados work, and help figure out how to predict these things. |

Regardless of their motives it is a hazard of the job, storm chasing is a high risk occupation. Their motives may be good and the results beneficial to the wider community but if you play with fire you should expect to get burnt.
The assumption that they aren't thrill seekers is maybe a bit simplistic though, people take on risky jobs like this for the thrill of the chase. This in no way undermines the value of their contribution but it can point to possible causes of incidents ( those looking for the thrill will take greater risks) My condolences to their families

The reality is ANYONE can make a living out of providing cheap programming for all those 24/7 cable networks........basically filming your hobby/fantasy etc.......the only limit is your imagination.

They were Discovery # contributors....their car was destroyed beyond recognition and another 'chaser' had their car destroyed with 1 of 3 seriously injured. They're having trouble with id'ing the 3 victims.
