Hi Guys.

Not wanting to start a"what's best" tyre thread.

I know these tyres are popular with some people.

I've been considering a set myself.

Just a heads up ...... they are 4 for 3 again at Jax and Bridgestone.

Big fan of these tyres. Even used them on track and they did really well for a road tyre.

They're a great tyre!

Bang for your buck you can't go wrong with them. I used them for track days in a road car, once they got a couple of heat cycles through them and scrubbed in the stuck like the proverbial to a blanket.

ive had a set on an bf xr8, was a better tyre than that slug ever needed, bought them again for my wifes liberty GT and they are fantastic on it. i then put kumho ku39's on my p250 but when they die ill look at getting the re003 again.

i reckon they a spot on for the price range and they look like a semi slick

I agree. 'bang for buck' especially with the 4 for 3 offer ......

Hi Jason.

The Michelin pilot sports 4S are possibly a better tyre.

Do you want to spend the money is the Q , I guess.

Bang for the buck, and the 4 for 3 offer is very tempting with the RE003.

It lasts till the end of May.

Maybe try to find some back to back tests, if possible.

Comparison tests will drive you insane.

What’s it going on. No point putting cup sport tyres on a car that will never get the best out of them.

Like the 003’s on the bf xr8. The tyre is better than the car ever could be. I reckon chinas finest plastic tyres would have been better than the car

I've looked, and these tyres are well rated and I'll probably buy a set later on in the month, but I strongly disagree with your statement.

Getting the best out of them is having them at their limit 100% of the time on a track. But the times I've been "saved" are the 1% of times I've pushed slightly past what tyres can handle, where the electronics of the car tones it down and the tyre pulls you back into safety.

The rubbish that came from the factory with my car really scarred me! But even they were better than any China plastic I've seen.

Bang for Buck, the RE003 is hard to beat.
Grips well in all weather.
Will get good mileage too, I got 70,000km out of my last set.
Sure, there are better tyres out there, but not at this price point, that provide this level of grip and last as long.

+1 from me. Though cant vouch for the long life others talk of. Cheap insurance.

Sorry to ask, given that statement, but I was going to buy 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres soon, which is over double the price of this sale.. I've been running Nitto Invo's for the past ~6 years (they don't last long, so I've bought quite a few) but they feel really safe and have got me out of trouble on a few occasions!

I had the normal Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on my Caprice and they were magic, car only makes 160KW at the tyres though, it wouldn't spin em even if you gave it a good crack, unfortunately the rears only lasted a whole 12,000km though lol

Even when they were toasted they still gripped better than this crappy ecotyre the tyre shop fitted when I went back to 16" wheels, it'll chirp on 1-2 change at 25% throttle and if you give it a bootfull off the line it does a mad single pegger lol

I think RE003 comes in 16", I'll be ordering those next time.

Not really heard a bad word about them. I was looking for some but was talked into Pirreli Dragon Sports. So far so good. Bridgys have great grip but terrible life in my experience.

I've had both RE050 and RE070s and I chewed them out pretty quick. The worst tyres I had were the Toyos before I put the Pirrelis on. Unatural for a WRX to spin the wheels and hang the **** out in the wet so much

Yes using the Pirrelli Dragon sports right now and they are great. RE003 are excellent too. Just a pity I still have 20-30 000kms on the pirellis.... It's always the case for me, need tyres when no sales, dont need tyres when there are!

Yes same problem for me too. If they had RE003 3 for 4 that would have been nice. But mine were unroadworthy so I took the easy route

Bought some 245/40x18 (4 for 3 price $176 each) 2 years ago for my expensive garage ornament.
I keep the pressure at 38psi, and my only complaint is that they seem to flat spot when the ornament doesn’t get driven for a few weeks which did not happen with the RE001. This takes about a 30km drive to ‘fix’.
But that problem is related to my usage, rather than a tyre problem. If I get 70,000 out of them, I won’t need to replace them until 2050.
