Hi Guys I've bought a 2000 Ka and am going to build it up for Hill Climb racing here in Tassie. I ran a Proton Satria GTi last year on road tyres and finished 4th but the cars ahead of me are dedicated track cars (trailer queens) so I'm going down in Class (and engine size) to get away from the guys with big bucks. Sooo the Ka is a stocker and am going to go to Coil Overs as the first mod. Any suggestions on brand? Must height and be multi adjustable. Have checked out Pedders C/O and am considering Koni's as I've used Koni's before in other cars. Any suggestions recommendations for other brands will be carefully considered and researched.

I run konis and bilsteins on my race car (mk1 escort) and Konis on my road car.
I prefer the Bilsteins but cost a lot more and don't have any adjustability. I will be changing out to Koni custom competition inserts http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...-strut-inserts internally modified to suit my spring rates and car weight. They are also much shorter than most other shocks which is helpful. Id also be modifying my own struts rather than buying of the shelf at great premium. JP |

I'm hearing a lot of good stuff about Ohlins atm. I looked at the gear you suggested and am comparing and still looking around. Lots of gear to start ordering soon. Much more gear to check out. Bit worried by the amount of U/S the Ka has on ****** tyres in std form, have to find someone to dial that out. Firstly though I need to work out it's Weight Transfer Number........ so I can plan a balanced suspension package.

Waiting on a reply from Extreme about a CM Flywheel and a Button Cushion Clutch. I have an Australian Extreme 3.5kg CM with a B/C Clutch in my Satria GTi and it's hook up is super impressive and street drivable unlike a straight Button Clutch.

Any updates on the hill climb Ka. I have just purchased a Ka with a blown head gasket, and I intend to fit a 2 litre Zetec to give it some power. Intend to upgrade suspension and brakes, want to use 17 inch wheels (easier to get good tyres in this size). I will run the Ka gearbox, but I am looking for an LSD to help make use of the extra power. Any advice is welcome. Have no intention of putting it on the road. thanks
