That's gotta have some serious power to haul that thing across the line for those times.

They are definitely getting better and better each time though.

Hi there everyone - just joined the forum here. My car is CYC06T - the car this thread is about.

It is good to see that it is starting to cause a bit of a stir in the XR6T/Ford world.

Dom and I are really pleased with where the car is at and where it is heading. It has been a long time coming thats for sure!!

A big thanks to Plazmaman as well who have just come on board as sponsors for the car and supplied some new bits and pieces to help keep us going in the right direction.

Its a shame Jambo 21 was cancelled as we were keen to keep the momentum going and try and set a new benchmark. We will be trying to get out sometime between now and October to make sure we are ready to go.

Hi Prasac,

Happy to share some info. I cant reveal all, but will give you the basics.
  • BA MKII XR6T
  • TRP spec built motor
  • TRP spec cams
  • GT47 88ml turbo
  • Speedfab manifold
  • Plazmaman plenum
  • Plazmaman throttlebody
  • Plazmaman pro series intercooler
  • Dry sump set-up
  • NRT 2-speed powerglide w/transbrake
  • 4-link rear end
  • Haltech engine management
  • Racepak dash
  • Eboost2
  • Kirkey race seat
  • MT 28.0 x 10.5 rears
These are the basics. The car has a nitrous set-up also to get us up on the converter pretty quick. The interior has been removed so far as well as this car is purely a drag car now and doesnt make anymore street appearances.

You can see it spools up pretty quick from the videos.

I hope you like it,

Phil

Forgot to mention that it is run on E85 and is tuned by TRP and Powertune and has an Atomic billet flex plate and a Strange diff.

Yeah the new gear looks the goods, and we squeezed a little more hp out of her on the dyno too

We should be heading out to WSID on Saturday to see if we can improve since Jamboree was cancelled.

The guys from Turbowerx have put a BA motor in their lightweight VL race car. It rolled off a nice 8.3 at the ned of last week - backing off at the 1000ft mark, so Im sure it will continue to go quicker as well!

He he he - theres a bit more to it than that - bit with respect to Dom and Tony I will keep it pretty quiet for now. The Ford I6 is pretty new to them, so we have tried a range of things to make a strong motor that will last. I'm not made of money so have been keen to find some semblance of reliability, which is difficult in this sport!

We have tried a heap of things with regard to the block, head, valves and valve springs, main cap girdle, crank, cam gears, gaskets etc.

The head is one of a kind - that much I can say with confidence
