Default hsv vxr

just found this, the hsv vxR.. what are your opinions on it?

http://www.hsv.com.au/vxr/vxr.html

0-100 in 6.2 seconds, max speed 240 km/h

• Turbocharged 2.0 litre, 16V

• Power 176kW

• Torque 320Nm

• Power to weight – 6.9kg/kW

• Close ratio six speed gearbox

• 19-inch alloy wheels

how come fpv doesnt bring out a small car. :

A better version of the previous model's Astra Turbo.

Both the VXR and the Focus are FWD.
The Vauxhall VXR is already on sale here in the UK.
It goes hard, but has some pretty serious torque steer.... lets go left!

yeah thats a bit weird... probably get a warning light that you cant even figure out wtf it means until after yourve cooked the motor.

i know fords made some dumb decisions over the years but i like the fact that you can qoute some guy from HSV saying that theyll never go the turbo 6 route and that theyll only focus on V8s... and now they are selling a turbo 4.

I think the Honda Jazz has the same thing, warning light for cold, warning light for hot. Bloody stupid if you ask me.

wacthed the guys at Top Gear do a review on the vauxhall VRX(no im not gonna call it HSV)...and they panned it. Impressive stats no doubt, but actually getting that power down and staying in a straight line proved near impossible for them...so i await the nightly new reports of yet another HSV going off road ...hehe

BTW they rated the comparatively down on power VW Golf GTI the head of the class in the "hot hatch" sector.

he never had a go at ford AT ALL dude,
he said its funny how you can quote some guy from HOLDEN for saying they would never go down the turbo 6 route and they'd stick to the V8's....now they have a turbo 4 pot

320Nm is alot of torque for a stock 4 Cylinder Turbo.

I think its a good move by Holden to add a 4 Cylinder to their HSV range now all they need is a Turbo 6 and i'll be happy.

Man, I was just about to post a thread on this, check out the game for the Vauxhall VXR http://vauxhall.co.uk/vxr/game.jhtml .

It sounds like they're trying to take back the small/medium-sized turbo from the Subaru... but where's the AWD?

[EDIT]
Wait a sec, the VXR220 (RR), the Astra VXR (FF), and Monaro VXR (FR)?!

FPV will get a Focus of its own, but it will be the RS.

Now, THAT, will be a while off.

is it just me or is HSV tryin to copy the XR5 name.

Correct me if im wrong but the ancient roman number for 5 was V.
VXR = 5XR which is pretty much the same as XR5.

the xr5 looks better though.

I dont see how it would be copying.

The 2 just have similar names thats all.

Or XU6 and XR6.

I think its just a way of competing with eachother by having similar names of cars in the same catergory as one another.

The VXR has tourqe steer problems as many people have noted, Ford are better than Vauxhall at making hot hatches, much better. and this is a prime example.

I think FPV should stick to the large cars at the moment and wait until the Focus or Fiesta sell more models before a hot hatch is released.

Thats like HSV bringing out a hot adventra and expecting it to sell... oh wait it flopped miserably didn't it

that focus looks quite good...
they lok like the new fpvs though... designed by the same people? i know the bars are built somewhere else and shipped... so maybe?
personally, fpv should do a 4wd one... that would be good, but well be in wheelchairs before that happens...

The focus XR5 has better figures on paper than the VXR, It beats it to 100 by one tenth of a second. It also looks a shoitload better while it does it.
