I just replaced my coil pack a couple of months back with a generic one not msd and that cost me $104.65 from burson auto parts.
The part number for this particular one is C185, you will need the one where the post are like the top of spark plugs. hope this helps you out a bit. Cheers Whiskers

is yours a 6 or 8? if it's a 6 you can get a msd coil for it, but you will have to get different leads, and hook them up to the coil differently. there are no aftermarket performance coils that i know of that bolt straight in to a 6 cyl au falcon

Damn!
I should have waited a bit for the info in this thread. I read the thread regarding coil packs for v8's but didn't think there was anything for i6's. My car has ticked over 150K so I'm replacing all manner of bits and pieces. Anyhoo, just last weekend I replaced coil with a Delphi from ebay and 9mm leads from Qld Ignition Leads. Meant to get on to Whoosha about the non-arrival of the pooch ;) |

It's more about peace of mind. We do mainly long trips in the AU so if I replace a bunch of bits and pieces every 150K, I'm happy (and not sitting on the side of the road at Cobar or somewhere equally desireable) |

Eventually I'll do it, but i've got a few projects to finish first. The coil's are Honda CBR RR (04/06) motorbike coils btw. There should be an advantage to doing it, but only in a tricked up/warm motor. Doing it to a stocker would gain much advantage. Bit more toque if anything. Where a Coil on plug setup like this will get good, is boost :evil3: Cheers

ahh Superroo very good... interested to see how you go, keep us posted, i`m thinking just getting rid of plug leads for starters is a step in the right direction.
