Default How to find out where a car came from

I am trying to track down where a dealer got a car from. They wont tell me where they got it from obviously.

From the look of a dodgy spray job on the front bar, something tells me it was a damaged purchase by them, possibly auction yard?

Anyone have suggestions as to how I can work this out?

I have the original books which gives me the first owner however he cant remember who he sold it to.

Isnt that enough already to make you want to move on and look elsewhere? Unless you already bought it.

And its not their obligation to disclose the prior owner. Whole privacy thing right there

If you're in Vic have a look here..... http://www.racv.com.au/wps/wcm/conne...ing+a+used+car

Part of that page reads...The car's service history should include information about accident repairs. If this is not available and the car is being sold through a dealer, try to verify the car's history and its odometer reading by contacting the previous owner (their details should be included on the Notice of Particulars which will be attached to a window of the car).
