Default WSID 14th Sept

Looking at going again, bring down the PB (12.4). I had an experience last time, with the new ratios hitting the limiter every pass. Pending I can get that sorted, a clean pass should be good for a lower 12.

great night out a bit of video of the Capri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6uRuhJplmA first pass track was a bit how u going, a few words were had with some of the track guys, by the 2nd n 3rd passes it all improved.

mates XB has some voltage issues didn't want to risk any further trouble so he didn't push her hard. he took her home after 2nd pass, ran a 12.4@115 with a very lazy 2.3 60'.

i think he did also. a few people had words with WSID staff. Joe backed the Capri off in the first pass 9.1@144 he said he has never ever seen it that bad, he even admitted he was scared he was very tempted to pack it up and take it home. i talked him into giving it another pass, it was better.

third pass it hooked up the best it ever has, 1.36 60' it usually 60's 1.41's at street meets, we took 1psi of boost out after the 8.99 run, i worked out it should run a 9.02-9.03 but cos it hooked up so good in the 60' it ran 1/10th quicker it was funny Sharpy was waving to Joe, he just thought he was saying g'day so he waved back Sharpy then came over said he can accept an 8.99 but not 8.91 the other officials were giving him a bit of grief, so we took 2psi out put 20L of fuel in and made sure he wouldn't run close to an 8 again. ran 9.123 so they were happy with that.

going back out in another couple weeks.

Was the busiest I've ever seen out there. Only managed 3 passes.

Completely botched the first pass, grabbing the wrong gear twice, crossed the line for a 13.1

Second pass, was flawless (on my part), but only a poor 12.7. Dunno what happened this pass.

Third pass was the best, but still a tenth down on my PB. a 12.535@110. Happily though, got a 0.402 RT on the pro tree (unless they already take the 4/10s off the time they give you, in that case that's a terrible RT).

What's done to your brothers XR8?

It had a better ET than me on that run, but I got off the line much quicker. So finished first.

I also think at street meets they cut down on cost and don't prep the track anywhere near as much. Also the fact that most are using street tyres and apply the greasy street rubber, grit and **** and dragging up water in the tread.

Also with no real gap between runs there is no time to check the track apart from the start area.

Ill be up next week the less people the better more runs for me hahaha

Of course, that's why they have the 9 second limit. And I'm sure they'd be expecting most of the passes to be 12+.

True but you still need to prep for the 9 second limit not the average 12+.

Joe Sorbello is there every week in the Pro-Charged Skyline, i have seen a fair few 9 & 10-sec cars get there, there'd be at least 10-20 each week. even my mates XB was a little wobbly up top on the first pass and it was only running 115mph. i know the VHT is expensive but so is someone's life. i know of at least 3 or 4 people that went up and had words to say to WSID staff. there was also a huge crowd last night which would have meant some good revenue.

VHT is cheaper then injury or death like you said. Also cheaper then panel work.

If anything looking after the high speed end of the track is just as important as the start line. I noticed they not checking cars properly for overflows, oil leaks, tyres, secure batteries etc a lot of cars last week just drove up poped the bonnet closed the bonnet got their number etc and off they went.

Not that anyone wants to line up longer getting their car checked over but hey it doesnt take much fluid of any kind to cause a big loss in traction no matter how much VHT the track has on it.

You could save time if all andra licence holder where exempt from having to have their car checked over if its been presented in the last 6 months or something like that.

in Australia a reaction time is always displayed from .000 with .000 being a perfect light, whether it's on a Pro or Sportsman tree. the yanks sometimes say that .400 or .500 is a perfect light, which it sorta is, but they mean the time between the last amber and green.
