hi all, was thinking that we should put this on facebook as much as its anoying that seems to be the way things are getting advertised now. maybe a thought for the next meeting to discuss creating a facebook page for our club to create more interest and maybe new members. cheers molly

Chris, can we activate the facebook page and make it accessible to club members (sign in passwords etc)?

It's a "closed" group, so membership is only granted once approved.

Hi Guys,
I am pretty new to car shows and have never attended one as an entrant.
Can anyone give me some pointers please

I have a 09 FG XR6 Ute but i am in the middle of a Turbo Conversion so by the time the show is on it will have a 2011 XR6 Turbo engine with 5000kms on the clock.
I Would like to come to the all ford day with my family and have some fun just not to sure how to go about it.

There's nothing much to it.

- Fill out the entry form getting it back to us ASAP.
- Bring your car, making sure it's clean and shiny inside and out
- CAFD is a static event (no driving events like say Summernats), nor a 'concourse' event where absolute perfection is required.
- During the event judges walk around judging all the vehicles that meet the categories (e.g. you could meet 'Best FG XR', 'Best Ute', 'Best Stereo', as well as the sponsor categories, 'Best Engine Bay', 'Best Paint' 'Best Interior' etc..) for things like paint, body, interior, mechanical condition, engine bay.
- There will of course be a lot of other entrants and members of the public that will have a similar interest in owning and modifying Fords to talk to/see.
- At the end of the day trophies will be awarded.

Then us organisers get to start planning for it all over again.

You don't need to be with a club, we'll have many non-club entries.

I know you won't be the only silver AU 'lane there.

Tony, why don't you do what you do what you did a couple of years ago with the Sydney AFD and organise a few AFF entrants. You could then show as Australian Ford Forums club. I will start a thread if you need some assistance?

Sure. You can fax it to my work. Please just make sure that you put a covering page clearly marked ATT Stuart.

Just wanted to let you guys know that the FTF Car Club of NSW will be attending again. Had such a great time last year. We will bring all the entry forms & payment on the day. When it get's a little closer to the day I will let you know how many cars are attending. When would you like to know by, is there anything else you require from us.

If you'd like a club space, numbers ASAP allows us to allocate you a location.

And we'd REALLY prefer you pre-enter, makes on the day easier for everyone.

This is a good car show, however I do have one question/critisism.

Is there going to be a larger variety (trophy wise) of catogories this year?
Last year there seemed to be a hell of a lot ''plastic bumper'' awards & only minimal amount to other models.
E.G best XW/XY as compaired to best BA, best BAGT, Best BAGTP,
best BAXR6, best BAXR8, best BA ute, etc etc.

Apart from that all good.

Trophy categories were (and are already for this year) set based off attendance from previous years. Bigger attendance in a group get more categories. And we get more Falcons than anything else (by a long way), and indeed more of the newer models than the older.

And you exaggerate a little.
We've got (for the B series you highlighted)
BA/F, BA/F XR, BA/F FPV (3 not the 6+ you say)

there's also
- Best Ute (open to all models)
- Best non-FPV GT (for the non-plastics)

Yes I did exaggerate, but I think my point is a valid one.
If you build it they will come!
Trophies aren't expensive these days, but if you segregate people, you'll lose people. Bad news travels faster than good news.

We bought down 20 odd cars last year, some of them concorse winners!
Not even a look in!
This event will grow, but you need to grow with it!

Just my 2c worth.
Either way we'll be comming down again to lend our support.
