Ford needs Global RWD V8s and Big6s..Now!

The Koreans are not only taking the quality and equipment level game to the Big Guys like BMW, DaimlerChrysler, GM & Ford but they are starting to really take them on at their own game too.

If Ford aren't sure that they need a large RWD V8 performance sedan (Falcon/Fairlane) just yet to compete with the 300C, Charger etc. This just might scare 'em into giving it alot more thought!

The Koreans still have a lot to learn about driving dynamics. They couldn't get a decent steering and suspension setup to save themselves.

Seriously Hyundai **** me off. They never develop anything original, the Grandeur was a lincoln town car rip off, they have another hunk of junk that is a splitting image of an Accord Euro; now it seems they have taken some of the IOSIS designs as well as Mazda and tried to do something. My sisters have collectively owned 3 Hyundais and I can tell you, never again will they own one again. Whilst they may be on their way up in the world, their history with the little excels will plague them for a couple of decades yet.

Hyuandai recently ranked 2nd in the consumer quality survey in the US didn't they behind Toyota? They have also expanded their warranty to 5 years and unlimited kms. They seem to be getting better and better, but can they ever shake the whole "cheap, dodgy" stigma attached to them?

Diesels yes, hybrids no.

Do you know how much more pollution is created in making a hybrid car, im not sure of the figure, but it would have to be driven regularly for a number of years before it actually starts reducing it's total emissions to below that of a contemporary car.

Besides, hybrid is a interim technology, like an 8-track, Hydrogen Fuel Cells are the technology of the future. (when they come down in price)

Huyndai have certainly come a long way in recent years. I say good on them. I sat in a granduer last year at the motor show and while it still felt a little cheap inside it did feel a lot better than any other Huyndai i had been sat in before. To be honest it didn't seem less refined than a Toyota.

yea, i have to agree. it will probably have zero features as do all hyundais and probably wont go too hard, but i can still see it selling.

I know for a fact that people would really try and steer clear of a Hyundai, because they simply are not seen as "cool" cars, but if this car is actually going to be produced and if Ford's Orion is a lemon, I know what i would be putting my money down for!

We may laugh, but atleast they are giving it a crack, sure this may be a flop, but remember so were alot of their small cars for a while then all of a sudden they were getting best in class awards.

I wish them the best of luck, the more RWD V8 competition out their the better it is for us.
