That's not the case here, demand is still exceeding supply. It's funny, a LOT of people were saying that from the moment the S550 went on sale in Australia, that it would be a fad that would fade very quickly. Except that didn't really happen. The last of those S550's, customers would have waited at least 12 months for their car.

The problem at the moment is all S550 production stopped many months ago, any sales from then are simply remaining floor stock or fulfilled orders. No new Mustangs are due till export production of the S650 starts in January next year. S650's were initially expected to be here by now, but delay after delay has pushed that out to next year. I am one of those waiting for my car to be built.

As usual for Ford, one of the oldest car companies in the world has big problems rolling out new models.

I'd guess about 2-300. Would have to be fairly similar to the Silverado, based on price. Would lean towards the 300, just because of the popularity and icon status of the F150

An article I saw last month (27-11-23) was saying that around 20 F Trucks a day were being remanufactured.
I was surprised thought that there would be about 300 delivered…must have been ramping up production..

The 21,000 square-metre facility is currently in its ramp-up phase and once it’s fully operational it will be able to remanufacture up to 20 Ford F-150s per day from left- to right-hand drive.

Each vehicle currently takes around 22 hours over three working days to remanufacture from left- to right-hand drive.

As part of the remanufacturing process around 500 parts are installed or modified, including components for the steering, climate control, lighting systems, as well as the instrument panel.

There is not one car in the list that I would buy to replace my FG X.

I feel ya. For Terry replacement if I want a big wagon with a petrol 6 it's the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Then further up the $$$, the handling SUV would be a petrol X5 or F-Pace. Each lots more moolah than the circa $44K start on an AWD petrol Territory.



I found somewhat of an automotive goodie this month. Instead of paying the rip for new Tojo hybrid SUVs that are in stock, you can have the hybrid with the wagon and pay less as a whole heap of near-new Jap imports are now approved:

You can even get AWD versions with that dubious electric motor in the back that doesn't really engage when you launch on snow or ice (also on the SUVs lol), but it's the thought that counts...

So, how many of those who have long pined for a Territory replacement are going to buy the Mazda now?

Yes, this is on the watchlist - if not the top 20 sellers. Base petrol AWD being the sweet spot perhaps. Looking at low to mid 60s? Have seen some reviews where they suggest the drivetrain isn't as refined as what you would expect with inline 6/torque converter auto but I'm sure they will fix this. Anyone own one? What's it like?

Mechanic also suggested Isuzu MUX for a long term travel car with an unbustable (diesel) drivetrain. Anyone own one? Is it as uncomfortable as some private reviewers say?

Expensive to fix, parts are hard to get (accident repairs), steering rack hangs low and easy to damage when off road, also compared to a Prado underneath everything looks a bit weak.

MUX sells on price and the supposed "unbustable" engine. Yet from experience, that engine is not something I would want to sit behind for hours on end, its a truck engine and its presence is always heard and felt. Easily the noisiest engine in the segment, not to mention low output figures.

Apparently it's not a "true torque converter auto, but Mazda's own development.

It’s mated to an in-house eight-speed automatic transmission. It doesn’t use a traditional torque converter setup, instead it uses a wet clutch.

Should have just called ZF.
I also believe the CX inline sixes have rear timing chains if that is an issue down the track.

One day I'm going to have to replace our Terri, although as a late 2016 build, 62,000km it's doing ok...but that buying itch does flare up sometimes.

Bought and paid for the cx60 two months ago. Inline 6 turbo engine and RWD bias AWD was one of the main factors. Also the size is great. Tried a CX5 at the same time as the CX60 and felt cramped.....probably because the Falcon and Territory have plenty of space when your driving so maybe I'm just use to being comfortable when driving.

Where’s the appeal of a Recirculux that handles like a bar of soap, or a Hyundai/Kia with a ticking time bomb of an engine? A sleep inducing midsize SUV or an overpriced and impractical electric car?

Yes there are decent cars with appeal still around (I really love my new Octavia RS) but none are on that list.

Yes there are decent cars with appeal still around (I really love my new Octavia RS) but none are on that list.

If I consider personal 'enthusiasm' appeal I'd have to vote for the LandCruiser as I did so much remote work with an old one, that would be the only one on the list, maybe the Prado if the $$$ were judged too high and I wanted second best. The enthusiasm of driving up a rocky track to a radio tower.

Amazing how many Prados they're delivering at the moment.
For a long time they were capped around 1000 month, but recently jumped to 3000.
They must be pulling them from other markets, I know they were popular in Russia.

I think its going to be hilarious when the F150 starts pumping more numbers than the lowest cost model in Ford's range (Puma).
