looking for 5.99 0-100?

Manual
Ported Head
3.73:1LSD
Bigger cam

Should see it done.

(Aiming for a 1/4mile time + MPH, would be a better approach)

Well to tell you the truth I started with 0-100 in about 10 seconds when I bought the thing.
Race series extractors and catback 0-100 best of 7.2.
Dev 4 cam 0-100 best 7.2 seconds.
Added the unichip 0-100 best in 6.53 seconds .(fixed air fuel ratios and maybe brought the cam to life a bit)

If I can drop another .6 second I could possibly get a 5.9?

I just have to work out what?

Mate the cam is a fine cam.The dev 4 cam with the dev cylinder head should up the power to an honest 160 rwkws.
Did the cam made no difference...well as far as the most regular dyno I have visited over the past 12 months Croydons Dyno in Silverwater my car has not pulled less than 141 rwkws with the dev 4.
Whilst 0-100 did not improve but the power did.A standard AU with exhaust will never pull 141 rwkws on any dyno and definately not on theirs. I got that power figure after the cam went in.So the cam did make a difference to the top end.
Then I went in to mate Spiro at Autotech engineering. He did a unichip tune and gave me a top figure of 136.9 rwkws. However the car got a 0-100 best of 6.53 seconds. It feels better to drive and pulls much better too.
1 week later I ended up at a dyno day with the fpv club. On that dyno I pulled 141.9 .So go figure the numbers.

At the end of the day I got pretty sick of dyno numbers and relied on times.

This is where my logic lies.I really believe that a car will simply not go faster if it does not put down more power per unit of time.So if your car is going faster and your regular dyno does not show an improvent then rely on your times simple.
I would recommend a chip after you have optimised everything. But as I have said time it before and after for the truth.

I think Wagons are best suited to taking the children to soccer on Saturday Mornings and picking up the shopping.

What Walkinshaw said will do it for sure. What he said will basically be my setup soon.. Just sorting out a replacement clutch and gearbox at the moment, then the diff gears will be going in, and then headwork and a unichip.

Show them what a wagon can do useless

Thanks useless, dual exhaust would be good I've been thinking about that as well!

The fastest accelerating ca rI have ever been in was a 250 2v xa sedan.Dual exhaust joined not at the collector but the two last pipes before the collector. That thing used 80 dollars of fuel on 380 km per tank..back in 1985 but it moved man...It was obscene!!I am thinking about dual cats.

LOL, riiiiiiight.

Just remember Useless, short of FI you are running out of major mods to do now.
I doubt you'll get into the 5's without taking off the head and giving it some major work.

I'll keep my "turtle" at the moment. Its hardly been breathed on and its still ahead. I'll actually get around to modifying it some day too... then we'll see whos a turtle :P :

Stav, if you want 5's you need to do head work....at least. Diff and a manual would probably be important too.

Wait til all the other stuff is done. Saves you having to do a retune after every mod. Unichip (or most edits) = good.

0-100 in less than 6 means your car would do a 14 1/4 mile..

Any particular reason u staying away from turbo?

Short of that a 50-100hp nitrous shot should push you into the 5s.

The term sleeper gets used way too much around here. A car that runs in the high 15's+ over the quarter mile and 6's to get to 100 is not worthy of sleeper status.

A slow car can not be a sleeper. A slow "sleeper" is a regular everyday work/family hack. Not a performance car.

0-100 in 6 seconds... is a low 15/high 14... which isn't bad for a street car.... especially a 6cylinder wagon, sounds like sleeper status to me will beat a few v8s etc. not everyone has 11second turbo cars :P

You may have an 11 second car mate but I would run you 0-100 without any remorse or second thought. Get the gtech on to it and let us know what you do eh?

If you mean under bonnet then you can use a low mount manifold and a heat shield, most people wouldnt be able to pick the turbo on the BAs if they didnt have badges on them. Paint the cooler and piping black and have a plumb back BOV and i doubt the average copper would be able to pick it for what it is.

I take it you mean like a Vortech or Powerdyne or soemthing? You wont get much low down torque with a centrifugal supercharger, boost is relative to revs with them.
A turbo will give you boost throughout the rev range since a 4.0litre will give plenty of exhaust flow.

Disregard that if ur talking about a PD blower.
