Default AU Aftermarket Coolant header tank

Anybody here using an aftermarket tank from ebay or the likes?

I need it with a sensor hole. Genuine will be $135 plus post as Ford don't do it without the sensor. Genuine standard tank is well under $100.

The aftermarket pretty cheap but I know on the E Series cars the aftermarket tanks are guaranteed to leak. Are the AU ones any better? Anybody running one?

If anyone has a cleanish genuine used tank with the sensor hole I'm interested.

Does the PWR tank have the sensor hole? And how much is it?

Its very pretty but I think I might prefer being able to see the colour and level (also so I know if the sensor is working).

Yes. It did absolutely nothing.

Also, why would anyone have anything other than a clear one?

I've tried CLR, bleach, degreaser, napisan, sugar soap, petrol etc.

Chemicals do nothing, abrasives help. I did one with coffee beans inside and shook the crap out of it and soaked it for days. Cleaned it up a fair bit better but still not perfect.

I've tried cleaning a few of them and once they go discoloured thats basically it.

I'm planning to flush mine multiple times and run mukowt through it before fitting the new bottle. Hoping for the best.

I just got a new on my last AU and will probably do the same with this one. While it might be cheap to try and clean yourself the time you spend stuffing about si not worth it IMO.

Try coke (the cola variety). Block all the holes, fill it up and let coke do its stuff for 24 hours.

I got one from ebay for under 40 to my door. I was going to clean old one but for the.money it cost to clean rather put it towards a new tank which I did

I know it's more expensive than you were looking for, but these guys do have a really good amount of NOS Ford stuff and might be handy in the future.
I deal with them regularly and cannot fault them. Located in Regency Park and you can pick up from them.
