This is getting out of hand, I've got nothing against the LGBTQ community but I want to put this to our community to discuss, what are your opinions? |

Identity is a huge social issue. Generations exposed to bigotry and structural oppression is the reason why we see so much backlash now especially around LGBTQ - the most common forms of gender issues; but also other forms of identity too including cultural; as we now take on a more post-modernist way of critical thinking. Identity is socially constructed based around white European biases.
I see this a positive step forwards. Although the ability of choosing from 33 options A) it removes true choice; and B) it offers those who uphold oppression (overtly) to choose answers through idiocracy on a census which attempts to form an accurate picture of a nation. If the move was to be more inclusive/accepting, why not leave the question open for a persons true account of identity through their own narrative?

I mean it's sad to see such stupidity as outlined in the article.
Where are we going with this?? 33 Genders?? Really??? We are either born male or female, it's generally pretty easy to tell the difference in most cases. What are these people hoping to achieve?? It really makes me sad to see that society is going this way, and apparently it's all done in the name of tolerance

Gender = Male or female
Not I'm some goddamn particulate matter floating in an ocean of nothingness but if that option isn't there I'll jump up and down like a flipping moron.

There's some misunderstanding out there about the terms sex, gender etc but it's recognised that there are clear differences. My wife works at the Royal Children's Hospital, which has a Gender Dysphoria unit. This is what they say about the definitions of gender, sex, transgender:

Seems confusing with all the options. They should ask the question more simply for us Australians to understand.
Q) Were you born with a dick? Do you have both nuts, like only one left... but also one right? Or a single nut? Wouldn't it no longer be a left nut but now be a centre nut? Or does it still hang to the left? In answer to your question, it makes you: |

The doctor said, 'Harry, the good news is I can cure your headaches. The bad news is that it will require castration. You have a very rare condition, which causes your testicles to press on your spine and the pressure creates one hell of a headache. The only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles.' I was shocked and depressed. I wondered if I had anything to live for. I had no choice but to go under the knife. When I left the hospital, I was without a headache for the first time in 20 years, but I felt like I was missing an important part of Myself. As I walked down the street, I realized that I felt like a different person. I could make a new beginning and live a new life. I saw a men's clothing store and thought, 'That's what I need... A new suit...' I entered the shop and told the salesman, 'I'd like a new suit..' The elderly tailor eyed me briefly and said, 'Let's see... Size 44 long.' I laughed, 'That's right, how did you know?' 'Been in the business 60 years!' the tailor said. I tried on the suit it fit perfectly. As I, admired myself in the mirror, the salesman asked, 'How about a new shirt?' I thought for a moment and then said, 'Sure.' The salesman eyed me and said, 'Let's see, 34 sleeves and 16-1/2 neck.' I was surprised, 'That's right, how did you know?' 'Been in the business 60 years.' I tried on the shirt and it fit perfectly. I walked comfortably around the shop and the salesman asked, 'How about some new underwear?' I thought for a moment and said, 'Sure.' The salesman said, 'Let's see... Size 36. I laughed, 'Ah ha! I got you! I've worn a size 34 since I was 18 years old.' The salesman shook his head, 'You can't wear a size 34. A size 34 would press your testicles up against the base of your spine and give you one hell of a headache.' __________________

I thought everyone only had one left nut? I've only got one left nut, I've also only got one right nut
If you had two left nuts you'd probably need special under pants
