Default Annoying Beep

G'day All,

Just a quick question from a newby to the Ford Forums.

I have a 00 AU that I have had a Blaupunkt Acapulco MP52 installed in it.
CD sounds awesome however FM radio has an annoying beep come through it about once or twice a minute. I have tried disabling the Programme Type and RDS functions which people have suggested however the damn thing is still there agghhhhh....

Anyone got any suggestion as to how to remove the damn beep????

Yeah I know I can remove the unit or listen to CD lol

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks guys,

Airfield wise I am pretty much in the middle of a RAAF Base and a Small Airport.

Pardon my ignorance here guys but what's a Speed Sensor? Is it part of the falcon or stereo?

Beep or ding sound seems to occur whether I have sound muted on radio or not and is only occuring on FM radio only, I does have 2 functions called PTY (programme type) and RDS which I have turned both off and still no change. Its very frustrating when you're at the drive-in and you keep hearing "ding" every 30secs or minute... lol

Cheers,
Chris

:

Problem Solved.... yahoo...........

Turns out problem with it was the unit has an RDS feature as well as a Traffic feature and both have to be turned off.

Manual that came with it was the US version not the European version, US version does not have Traffic feature.

But :sm_headba not more beeps and dings in my FM radio ..

Thanks again for the help and suggestions, all I gotta find now is a decent Ford servicing place in Brisbane.

Cheers

Chris

ding ding. LOL.

Glad you have the problem figured out.

I wonder what RED_EL_XR8 was referring to with regards to the airport? Is there interference from the airplane systems near airports?

Military Radar can blast through just about any RF screening and supressions when its wound up. Usually resulting in a harsh audible blip or ping about every 30 seconds when it breaks through. Was a long shot but it matched the symptoms.
