Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded my PC and splashed out on a new game: V8 Supercars III. Of course, as soon as I installed it I loaded up V8 Supercars series, Bathurst and drove the SBR Falcon around. My best shootout time so far is 1:43 something. This is with the Pro settings off as I haven't had much time to master it yet. I think that'd significantly slow me down. I was wondering what others have done? Thanks, Andrew.

Hey
Dont have V8SC3 yet... but... Get yourself a copy of GTR2 and download the MMM V8 supercar mod + the tracks for it. You wont be disappointed... iron clad guarantee! Best time @ Mt Panorama in GTR2 has been 2:03.8 in a Ferrari 550 and 2:10 in a V8SC.

love f1 but due to sony ps getting the rights to any f1 games there's been nothing for pc for a few years. i still use gp4 which seems to be very realistic in terms of performance and lap times. on v8sc3 i think i managed a 1:13 or 14 or something around adelaide. |

DEFINATELY get your hands on GTR2, its a brilliant game. Very difficult as its a sim, not a game... but not *quite* as realistic as two others: rFactor also has V8SC mods with a beautiful rendition of mount panorama. And of course you can take an 07 williams F1 car (with engine sounds that make your knees wobble) around it should you choose to do so lol. Live for speed is another great sim, the most realistic out of the lot and the hardest to drive. Also features williams F1. rFactor/LFS both have a good mix of tintop and open wheel simulation... they both have an online focus but takes hours and hours and hours of practice to get the hang of it. LFS = drift! If you need any assistance *finding* these games... just PM me.

It's not really a mod (such as the ORSM v8 supercar mod for rFactor), it's really just a collection of tracks (that you can download separately) and a couple of extra cars. I've got both games (gtr2 and rFactor) but atm I prefer gtr2. It allows me to see my racing line, so I can improve my lap times and consistency. (Not to mention the driving tutorials). |

http://www.mrmenmods.org/gtr2releases.html All free, all legit... and dare i say, better than any retail release of this series ive ever played. Strongly recommend checking out Rfactor... ive only got Mr Panorama on it from the V8SC series, havent seen if the other V8SC tracks are on rfactor yet. But i tell ya what, a run up through the cutting in an 07 F1 car will definately bring your heart rate up.

Any game, any platform would be interesting.
I used to play EA Sports V8 Challenge a few years ago but can't remember the times.

I have 1:45 recorded against my account and have seen it go as low as 1:43 but it didn't save it for some reason. And now I can't better 1:53. This is all non-pro mode.
Confusing!

My best time with World GT NGT Surfers Paradise in a TVR is 1:22.895 Bathurst - steve ellery V8 SC : 1:42 Queensland - 53.67 (bit slow getting through left turn after back straight right corner) I'll see what my records are tonight and post some.

I am in the 1:42's doing time trail with my simulator. It helps big time on your lap time, well does for me.
I reduce front and rear down force, To get top speed before the chase and flat on the floor through the chase. you need to nail the cutting and the dipper for a good lap.

They're great - you're obviously pretty handy with a jigsaw!!
I've seen some of the commercial ones but they seem to be about $1,000-$2,000. Might get out the old Black & Decker and get to work! |
