Default Fairlane GT Shaker ?

I was visiting the next town late last week and " Guess what I Saw" ....

A " 1977/8 Fairlane ( ZH aren't they? ) GT Shaker " . I know it's everybody to their own tastes But ? ? ? it just looked all "Wrong" .

It was ( in your face ) Blue with a White roof , GT Bonnet Shaker , looked like XW GT "side stripes" and Black out's , and sounded like it had a 4 speed .

I love Rods & Nice Customs and such , something with a bit of thought put into it , but God , that looked Bad . Wish I had my camera with me , it is hard to describe what it looked like .

You young guys have nothing to worry about , this guy was 35-40 or so ,

Nearly made me embarressed to be a Ford Lover .

Each to their own. Everyone has different views on what looks good. I love what Foose does with cars, but I think even some of his designs turn out tacky looking. Dad has a shaker on an XT ute. I wouldn't do it personally, but he wanted it and it does look pretty tough on it. As long as he enjoys it.

I've seen a lot 'worse' things than a shaker on a Fairlane.

naughts scoop looks good to me. maybe the fairlane was too big and made the scoop look out of proportion?

xagt ,
Very much like that , except "Real Bright Blue" (about this colour) , White roof , jacked up rear . Too big of a car for that colour .
Similar side stripes , can't remember the exact colour , I think I was in "shock"

Like we said , "everyone to his own" , but it just looked ? ? ? to me . If you had the money to spend like that , at least it could have been XW/Y , Replica's are Ok , but a Fairlane ?

Perhaps consider for a moment that ZH fairlanes are less than half the cost of a half decent 6cyl XW/XY.
If it makes the owner happy, whats your problem?

I think it was a poor attempt at taking the pi$$ out of someone. It looks pretty doctored.
IMHO the shaker and cobra front spoiler would be a definate possibility. The GT stripe could be ok if it was a contrasting colour to the body.

I Do Apologise to you for posting a description of a car "I thought looked a little Off" and "Yes , I did consider the cost " . You will Note from my original post I said
" everybody to their own tastes " . Some people might think my basically "Stock Ford" is a "bit Off" , I don't mind If they say that . It was just a "personal Observance" in something I have had an Interest in for about 40+ years .

I will refrain from posting anything like this in the future , and will keep my opinions to myself , then I won't "Have a Problem". I am sure other people have posted a similar statement here at some time or other about cars , I'm sorry I just happened to see and mention this one , it won't happen again .

Speak your mind. There are too many soft c0cks around these days that take offence to virtually anything.
I personally like some of the fairlanes. ZA ZB ZH ZJ ZK, they are all quite good cars.
If I had a ZH, it would be a real sleeper, with a nice set of simmonds FR19's, the shaker and front spoiler a 5 speed manual and 393 stroker. I would do a retro GT/fairlane style interiour with sports guages from an xc gxl or put an xa dash in one and fit a GT dash and trim styling. I would make it to suit me.
If you dont like the car you saw, theres no shame in that, I loathe EA Falcons, and I tell that story every time I post in my sig, so speak your mind.

Harsh on EA's!

I've got a Phase 3 style chin spoiler waiting to go on my ZH, will be combined with a Boss 429 bonnet scoop... Each to their own, I reckon.

I'll enjoy my rice ZH.

Put some pics up of how the spoiler and scoop looks once its on. I am interested to see if the spoiler would look better than a cobra one.

Will neva apologise for my hatred of EA's tho. I have good reasons.
