Found my little issue regarding startup, the rail/reg is leaking. It seems to be coming from the regulator and looks to have a gasket or O'ring sealing it to the rail,is this correct.
I have removed throttlebody etc and when primed I can quickly run around and see/feel the leak coming from the reg area, you can also here a pshht sound for a little while whilst its releasing what pressure is left in system. So,does it sound like im on the right track with the reg leaking? BTW,we are loving the ride in this carI keep finding replaced/better parts throughout the car,saw the new nolathane front end in it today. Cheers guys and gals |

I have found the oring to be the problem.
Is this a part thats universal or it has its own part number?Im hoping Champion or something sell them in those plastic packets you see on the spinning stands in autoshops. |

It would be listed with it's own part number. Be better to get the right one than take a chance with something generic.

You may be surprised as the o-ring in question may have been carried over to later models, possibly for a different component. Try your local Dealer (Ford, not drug!)

they are about $2 from repco etc
was just thinking too, with the regulator if you find a small socket that fits snug over the vacuum pipe on the top of the regulator. sit the reg on something solid, slip the socket over the top and tap it with a hammer. if you can move the base down 1-1.5mm it increases the fuel pressure about another 25 psi, may be useful when you want to start making a bit more power in the EL.
