Biggest problem will prob be the 4499's due to the lack of room in the engine bay, seen a few people have issues with the LPG mixer i think to get it to fit. I dont know if anything else would stop you but just a suggestion.

Good luck

What gas system u considering to use??? as if u go vapour injection it may be an issue with lpg injector supply as u have a worked engine

Also get it done before the financial yr as u will get back $1750.00 but after then it goes down to $1500.00

Best to talk to Chris at Bluepower about how this engine will go on gas, then ask blownba about which gas setup he'd run if the car was his.

I'd reckon their advice is better than you'd get from any of us here! LOL!

And make sure you look after Krissy's car! LOL!

If u go mixer ring u may loose abit more power than usuall due to having engine mods as depending on cam size.

If u go impco with 200 mixer it may die off from say 4000rpm as it carnt supply enough but dont know this as we dont know cam specs.

Definatly speak to blownba or call his workshop http://www.amautomotive.com.au/ and id also chat to http://www.apsservicecentre.com.au/default.aspx as this crew has done a few high hp LPG setups.

a good gas bloke should be able to fit it up(if you can find one), i would`nt bother if plans are going turbo down the track, too many headaches.

You'll lose a little more power than normal but I wouldn't be too worried.

Gotta ask, why the bigger injectors, I can't see an NA AU ever maxing out standard injectors?

It's not that hard to do. My old EL had LPG turbo with 303rwkw with plenty of room for more.

You have done all this work to make your car quicker and then if you fit a LPG mixer style system, you will fitting a restrictor to the intake system which is going rob some power even while on petrol, you should be looking at Vapour injection as a minimum so as not to drop power while on petrol

i`m intrigued how long did you manage to keep it running for? my brother did it (lasted 12 months till he did a club day) , his mate also did it on a very high power level with no expense spared mid 400 rwkw, but neither could stop momentary lean outs, which lead to head problems in my brothers case and major engine rebuilds 3 or 4 times in his mates case, his mate had 3 fuel lines from the tank, 3 mixers to no avail.

It has injectors and it's own ecu, it injects gas into the inlet port close to the inlet valve, there is no retsriction to the air intake system like a mixer ring system has.

Andrew seriously leave it on petrol lol personally if it was boosted then yeah go for it but it's NA you're gonna have extra weight and lose power is it really worth it? Not like you're gonna go broke you'll still get huge km on the highway and hey mine uses far more and I'm surviving on a smaller wage lol :P

Completely agree, especially since it's N/A. You will weigh it down and lose power. Petrol usage will be decided by your left foot. Control the foot - control the usage. Attached is a pic of what I use to get on highway driving out of a tank on United's 98 fuel. The pic was taken with the other hi-stall fitted not with this one. Both 3000 though so can't see why it would be any different to hwy k's. I have nothing against gas systems as you know after the debate held here the other night lol but personally, I wouldn't fit it to the fairmont if it compromised on power.

EDIT: Right foot lol not left LOL

how much extra weight is a lpg kit worth??? at the end of the day he will chop his fuel bill by 40% at least going vapour lpg and as u may supercharge it u should go with a eurogas kit as they have great injectors and will support ur power levels.

Im also curious about ur custom intake manifold and bigger injectors???

Agreed. The weight of an LPG system is about as much as a small passenger so realistically it's negligible in such a torquey car. If you're really worried about power, there's always the JTG system for BA-BF which also works on an AU. As long as your system doesn't need to be too customised, a gas injection (e.g. Euro Gas) system will set you back around $4000 before rebate.

The car was an R&D car for G&D Performance back in the day when for a period of time 2 tuning houses were trying to extract as much as they could from a N/A AU. Three cars were involved, the fairmont was one of them. The tuners did what they did during that period. Manifold & injector changes being part of it. So it has bigger injectors lol *shrugs* Hope that helps kill your curiosity

So back on topic, Poelwyk just do what you want with the car. I can ask Chris about it if you want but really, I think you should be the one to speak to him since it's your car & you know what you want, sorta lol.

Honestly dont even both with a mixer if you are going LPG.
