Hey guys how do it replace the mechanical pump on a 2.0l pinto do it have to have engine at low cam if so how do i find low cam do i need gasket glue or sealent for the bolts an is low cam a must.

The fuel pump runs off its own small cam at low down on the engine below the dizzy, it's easy to replace 2 bolts, there is a spacer and a small push rod be careful not to loose these, pumps are common to buy 30-50 bucks

Does that cam have to be in any particular position? Or does it not really matter ? And do the gaskets need special glue? And do the bolts need some sort of sellent?

To answer our questions
The pump be installed in any position , however once ou pull the pump off, rotate until the small pushrod is retracted A general engine RTV sealant oil resistance is required Nothing on the bolts, they are blind holes
