Default Thanks bluepower!

Well Im rapt, I just fitted the Bluepower cold air intake kit to my mkII Pursuit.
I thought it was fairly simple to fit, and the air cleaner is massive!!

Went to take it for a quick squirt down the road... WOW cracked the throttle wide open and the sound is insanely addictive he he thought it made
the exhaust bark louder. It is evil sounding now, you can burble along sedately... and then when you give it a bit, it sounds like the hounds of hell being unleashed!

Next step is to add some headers and cats to complete the exhaust side of things.

Quick question: I have an 80mm throttlebody sitting here, does anybody know if they make a noticable difference on the 290?

The 80mm TB goes great on my 260, can't see why a 290 would be much diff!

Thats why I have it laying about, I had it on the 260 and didnt notice much improvement, so I took it off and put the stock unit back on.

Im thinking I might give it a go, seeing as it only takes ten minutes to swap.

What 80mm TB is it? Mine feels like it goes harder on part throttle and fells much smoother through the rev range.

Yeah your both right, made bugger all difference. In fact it ran like snot for some reason
the revs wouldn't settle back to idle... the idle was about 300rpm higher when it did settle down but mostly stuck on about 1700rpm, which made it hard to drive. I couldn't figure out whether it was damaged somehow or maybe it has been tuned at some stage.
I had it on my xr8 a while back and it worked fine on that? weird

Yeh had one on my car, caused more hassle than what there worth, erratic idle ran rougher with it on, they work about as good as a helix spacer great paper weights.

Tried one with the inbuilt helix on mine for a short while. Most unimpressive on my car, so went back to the original.

Always had one on my BA XR8 very slight increase at the top but this also seems to loose a little down low.
If you have one sitting around you may as well try it, takes a few minutes to fit.
Or put it on ebay late last year we had 2 fetched around $400 to $450ea they were both used.

Yeah, anyone want a s/h 80mm throttle body?? lol

Next mod will be oil seperators I think, back of the stock t/b was black with oil
and probably some oil pump gears. Oil pressure seems to drop fairly low on idle once the engine is up to temp.

I can't fault mine at all! Maybe they are little help with the stock pod and snorkel? I am running BPR box, Larger power pipe and the shaker. I guess the air can't get in any faster if there is still the 75mm TB fitted so the 80mm unit compliments the rest of my CAI? Who know?
