Default Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10: 0-96km in 5.0 seconds, 1/4 mile 13.8 seconds

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3456712

Certainly fast, but I prefer the look of EVO9

I dont mind the look of the outer body too much but the interior looks like it has crappy plastics that belong on a $17990 special. Probly another tin coffin in the wrong hands as I dont see it being very safe.

ugliest car of the series yet. Rear end looks like an alfa and the front end looks like a butchered r35 front end assembly. Interior is disgusting and the fact they blended the cd player/radio etc. into the dash is god awful. But what can you expect from jap crap.

Very dissappointed with the new EVO X, you can't tell me that after the hype/speculation/talk about this car it performs at this level, i mean, sure it handles a bit better then the EVO IX but almost all new models will. 13.8sec for the 1/4mile isn't much faster then the standard WRX is it?

This car was getting just as much hype as the new GT-R (which should live up to expectations)

Hopefully an aussie mag can get a review soon.

Looks effin awesome (love the front). I'm sure it will go faster than 13.8 (as the 5.0 sprint to 100 indicates) - the EVO 9 I have seen do low 13's. Though in the end they designed to be are a circuit/rally car not a drag car.

As to not being safe??? AWD, ABS, TBD, Active diffs, more computers than a spaceship - WTF are you talking about...

It should go faster than that. From everything I have read both the EVO and STi should be dipping into the 4s for the 0-100 sprint.

I don't like the look but I've never been a fan of the EVO in the looks department. No doubt they will sell heaps of them though.

I doubt it...

The review says it had to be pushed to the limiter to get 60 mph (96 km/h) in second, so I'm guessing it needs a 2-3 shift to hit 100 km/h??? If thats the case, there goes at least another 0.5 seconds.

And the test was for the manual, coz it talks about the rev-limiting think in neutral.

Not too keen on the design myself, both inside and out. Wonder how much Mitsu will be asking for them?

Mitz evo 10 was spose to be the ulimate evo, now its look like it would't be , very disappoint with the power on the 10, less than evo 9 , they made it too much of luxary car, its sports rallary car not modern sadan, c'on Mitz make reallly perfermance car, this willl be good car whens its out through.

I've seen one of these on the road (not exactly sure what year but definately either previous or current model). All I can say is it looked @#!@#en quick. I was a car or two behind and the EVO driver was having some fun and when he booted it, it just rocketted off. Didn't have a massive exhaust either so I'm guessing would have been pretty "stock".

I know I can beat a WRX. I've done it enough times to know. :P

Why do I think that Mitchay? Its a Lancer. A cheap, Japanese economy car from an ailing company. Zero faith. Plus all the previous examples have been flimsy tin-cans, so they've got the track record.

Yeah, i understand this, but I'm just putting his post into perspective, how many times does it have to be said stock v modified does not count.
I'm sure a tuned evo x with an exhaust and intake would maul a heavily modded n/a 6. There's just no point comparing.

apart from a cam, the motor is standard!!!

exhaust and shorter diff gears. WOW!!! lots of money spent there. let me spend the money the evo costs, and then we will see who gets sorted quite easily!!!

Hahaha, this will be a five star safety rating car, just like the new lancer VRX.
This is a heavier car than the evo IX remember, as it's bigger and more rigid in every way (considering the new base model lancers have more structural rigidity than the evo IX).
I love the look of them, it's very much a subjective thing though.
The auto should be faster than the manual here, as it's supposed to be a VW-style dual clutch box.
And FPV8U - the Australian spec evo 7 ran a mid 14 (it was the slowest of all evo models) - a stock one wouldn't even dream of a 13 second pass.
I'd expect the evo X to pull a 13.5 and be an absolute track demon.

I like it - Aussie version will be a little different though to that though - hopefully even better.

Maybe my next car (the GSR version not the EVO) - though will have to check out the Orion XR6T first.
