Exclamation Toyota Builds a Ute for Hunters !!!

Toyota has built a ute that comes with a camouflaged hunter’s hide-out on the roof.

Only in America: Toyota has developed a special version of its Tundra pick-up truck that comes with a roof-mounted, camouflaged base camp for hunters.

The Tundra 4WD has a viewing – and presumably shooting – platform on its top deck, which comes complete with camouflaged tent, guard rails and matching camouflaged camping chairs.

Inside, the truck is designed to be a mobile command centre, with the latest GPS tracking devices to keep an eye on game and the weather.

The cargo tray has three separate sections, with a swing-out work bench, mobile kitchen, storage and a water tank.

And when the owner isn’t maiming wildlife, the truck itself is doing a pretty good job of damaging the ozone layer with a 5.7-litre V8 engine.

The Toyota is one of a rash of crazy modified vehicles that have descended on the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, which showcases modified vehicles and aftermarket components.

I agree these will sell out in the US, and although the gun culture in the USA is scary i still believe that in Australia we should be able to legally store a firearm at home and be legally allowed to defend our home with it, if the need arises.
Sorry that its off topic a bit but i just had to get that in there.

We can use anything within reason to defend ourselves, others and our property. Problem is most of us don't understand what 'reasonable force' means and with very few exceptions we can't buy a firearm for that purpose.

I don't mind that ute/truck/whatever but I don't take my hunting that seriously.

When I got my shooters licence, Qld, about 20 yrs ago, on the question relating to the reason for the licence, I put "home defence". Licence issued no problem.

20 years ago I and many of my friends legally carried a Glock for personal defense (as a private citizen), 14 years ago jackboot change it for everyone and now if you were to say that you wanted to defend yourself with a firearm you would have your license revoked.

Funny comments about the truck and Americans, lol.

One, this truck was done up for the SEMA show. Very few vehicles done up for the SEMA ever make it to production.

Two, American hunters do not hunt from their trucks. Ok, there may be a few illegal exceptions, but they usually get locked up. Most hunters hunt in the woods, far away from their truck, where the game are!

Three, Toyota can't give these trucks away. Toyota, year to date through October, has sold 75,832 of these trucks in 2010. Ford sold 49,041 F-series trucks just in October alone! Year to date for Ford is 434,920 trucks. Chevy sold 301,998 year to date, and Dodge sold 158,205 Ram trucks. Toyota sold 7,187 Tundras in October, which is down from 7,537 a year ago. Basically, Ford sold 7 times as many trucks in October as Toyota did.

http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2010/11...uck-sales.html

This is not going to sell out. I would be AMAZED if it is ever even offered.

On another note, if there were no guns only criminal would have guns. Only law abiding people abide by the law, and if the law said no guns only those people would be unarmed. All the criminals would still have theirs, which leaves the good people as victims.

Those who believe the gun culture in USA is scary....

a) Have you actually been there (not just California) and experienced it or just seen it on TV?
b) Have you been to western Sydney?

Guys, I'm on the fence on this one, but the simple statistical reality is that no guns means less deaths... Like I said, I'm not fussed. There have been times when I would have liked to use a grenade launcher on those pesky people knocking on the front door wanting me to switch gas providers! For all I know, they are axe murderers pretending to be gas agents...that's why I'd prefer to shoot first cause you just can't be too careful.

No cars means less deaths too. Take a train, walk, ride a pushbike or just don't go.

We all survived for centuries without cars.

Please tell me that picture is a joke.

Hey Steve,

I was reading some time ago about a county somewhere over there where the local sheriff passed a bi-law that all residents have guns ... and house robberies suddenly went out of fashion.

I hadn't heard of that but the statistics are amazing....

After the law went into effect in 1982, crime against persons plummeted 74 percent compared to 1981, and fell another 45 percent in 1983 compared to 1982.

And it has stayed impressively low. In addition to nearly non-existent homicide (murders have averaged a mere 0.19 per year), the annual number of armed robberies, residential burglaries, commercial burglaries, and rapes have averaged, respectively, 1.69, 31.63, 19.75, and 2.00 through 1998
