HAD;

July 04 WP Zetec

You might find these stats a little... inaccurate. I'm assuming most people on here are 'enthusiasts', and therefore most will probably own a Zetec!

well i wasn't going to point out the obvious to Teki, but yeah, I was just trying to see how many people on the forums went for each variant... if i wanted general sales figures i'd ask Google

I have an WP LX. Couldn't really justify the price jump to a Zetec when I was putting aftermarket wheels on anyway. If I was buying now with the WQs it would be a different story.

Well I havent actually got mine yet, have placed an order for a WQ LX in Moondust silver. Should have it in 3 weeks or so. Anyhow as far as I can tell I'm the oldest bugger on here too. (48) Ordered it with Fiesta mats, and once I have it will look at a nice set of mags. Will replace the space saver spare as well, I just dont like the idea of having that on the car :

Anyhow Hi all

g'day

'06 tonic WQ Zetec.

Had it not been for the closer/shorter gearing on the '06 Zetec, I most probably would have gone the LX and spent the change on wheels/tyres/springs, too.

Hey there Imolator,

Welcome to the forum! Glad you've made the purchase? What are you upgrading/downgrading from?

Oh... mags aye. What type?

Welcome,

I'm going from a 1997 Magna V6 to the Feista, I've usually always had smaller cars until I bought the Magna 7 years ago. Sure the Fiesta isn't as fast in a straight line but it sure as hell is more entertaining once you come to a series of bends. And should be much cheaper to run and service.

I tested most other cars before settling on the Fiesta, drove a Jazz but couldn't get over the artifical nature of its steering. Just plain weird, more like an arcade game feel. And the handling left me cold. Had a look at the yaris, and hated the interior, drove ok though but not in the same league as the fiesta. Also looked closely at the Swift, its steering was also a bit artifical, I've yet to drive a car with electric power steering that I could live with, and the handling was good still not up to the fiesta though. But the engine didn't have the torquey nature of the fiesta. So the Fiesta won me.

As for Mags I'm open to suggestions, tossing up between keeping the original tyres and going with 15" rims or selling them and getting a set of 16" rims and tyres to suit.

Cheers

Michael
