Default new PB for Geea 11.033

Had a good and bad night last night. I ran a new PB of 11.033@122.39 I had 3 runs and all were better than my previos best of 11.587@123.01. The only problem i had was the car running out of fuel before the end of the run. I was 7mph and 0.5 seconds quicker mid track before the fuel surge. I'll be out next week and hope to have the fuel issue sorted.

Isn't the record for the quickest XR6T in Australia 10.98? If you can beat that you'll be set! I guess it is the second fastest XR6T now anyway. Good on ya.

My previous best of 11.58@123 was on street tyres and pump fuel (with an octane booster). The car had a little but not much more left in it with this set up. I decided that i'd have a shot at the quickest in any trim.
The car was tuned with VP109ron racing fuel. To save the cat and reduce weight the exhaust was dropped and the seats taken out. I'm still running the Nitto's. The car was awesome and the only problem was the car surging through not being able to pick up fuel. We thought we had this solved by having a little pump at the back of the tank pumping it ot the swirl pot but it. Unfortunately not. It seems that the faster the car goes the more fuel it needs to avoid this happening. the first run i had 1/4 a tank and coasted the last 100m for an 11.52. I added 15 litres and then had the same problem but this time only for the last 70m or so. I added another 10litres and with a little wheelspin (it was 1125pm and getting damp) i ran an 11.22 with the problem only happening for the final 40m or so. It looks like i'll need 3/4 of a tnk to solve this. For next week only there will be a surge tank fitted and hopefully this will do the trick. Rob and Ian @ HPF were great and hopefully next week will be my night.

Just like to add how immpressive Rod's first up run in his pursuit was 11.8 for a first up effort is a huge achievement and those involved deserve a lot of credit. Look forward to watching your times tumble Rod.

Heres my slip.

What is VP109 and where can you get it. Could you point me to where I could find out more about this fuel. Also why is it detrimnental to your cat.

Not sure where to get it. If you ring Rob @ HPF he'll be able to give you the details.

It's quite a tough one isnt it....speed or noise?

I will always love V8's better than anything else...but if you dont mind the odd 1/4 fang, the T's are great bang for buck with a few grand spent on them

My thought's exactly mate, I'm a V8 man at heart and allway's will be, some may think it is stupid that people like me bought a V8 for the pure sound it make's, I just love the sound off a warm V8 but at the end of the day the Turbo's are a better package and there seem's to be more and more potential with them and more people out there willing to work them, I'm yet to see a Boss dip down into these time's, and to tell you the truth I'm very disapointed that the Boss has been out in Aus, for 2-3yr's now and yet still they are not showing any real performance gain's like that of the LS1, and they were out in the USA for yr's before here and still nothing to get exicted about, maybe I'm being a little over the top here but I feel the Boss should be lifting it's name a little.

The exhaust was only removed to save the cat. I have a 4"cat into 4" pipe and twin 3" out the back.
The car went from 328.7rwkw's on BP ultimate with a booster to 358.7rwkw's with the VP109ron race fuel.

Are you running the race fuel in your normal tank or do you use a fuel cell in the boot.

Did you use the nitto's for your new PB, from memory your running 245x45 555R's. It's a shame we cant stuff more rubber under these Ba's, i've got 265x35x18 555R's going on the back of mine as soon as i kill this set of sp9ooo's. Hell the nitto's are cheaper than the dunlop's (retail anyway) so im going to run them full time.

I'm running the race fuel in the normal tank. This caused problems with fuel not reaching the pick up. A surge tank is getting fitted. I ran the new PB on my 245/45/17 Nitto's. I hope to have some 275/40/17 MT street's for this Friday. Wish i could get them for my 19's.
