Default Dash Cluster

I've done a search but can't find the information i require.

I went to install my XR dash cluster into my ute this afternoon, but when i pulled the old cluster out i only have two connectors and in the instructions off aufalcon.com.au it says to move wires to pins 2, 3, 26 or 27 and 28, i think it is, however i haven't got a plug for these.

My question is to the people who done the conversion, how did u get around this.

Also what is involed in changing the radiator header tank to a level sensing one and the washer bottle to a level sensing one also.

Regards

Nathan

Thumbs up

Nathan,

I've just done this, but my temp gauge didn't work. I think the cluster may have been crook when I got it.

Is this a series 1 changeover?

Do yourself a massive favour and plug it in as is, and ensure that the gauges work.

I'll help you with as much info as you like, as many helped me. You can also avoid a few mishaps that I had.

No its a series 2 to series 2.

Yeah, i plugged it in and everything seemed to work except the usual, indictator, abs light and the cluster illumination lights, although i don't think i'll have to worry aobut the abs light as my ute doesn't have abs.

The only thing i think i have wrong with my cluster is the tacho needle seems to be a bit sticky, and this missing connector

I thought that S2 clusters just plugged straight in! Hmmmmm.

I'll check with a few forum members in the know and get back to you.

If the wires that need changing are the same, then I can help no probs.

I was tempted to replace my cluster as well .... but in the end it looked to be too much of a headache just to get 2 more gauges (that's why I have a twin gauge pod of the centre console ... which I am yet to install).

Plus getting the 4-door indicator to show correctly for a 2-door ute might be a pain as well.
