Default VZ better than VE?

We have just got a bunch of VE Omegas at work and I have been asking people what they think about them and the comments have all been the same-the VZ was better!

The complaints have been that the visisbility is shocking with the pillars, high waistline and high boot making it really hard to see and that the engine doesn't sound right it sounds whiny lacks grunt and sounds like it is broken.

There has also been complaints that the steering feels vague and off centre and the throttle response isn't calibrated right and that the seats are really uncomfortable.

The comments about styling have generally been negative with the chunky interior and exterior not suiting a base model car and the lights and buzzes (especially the one when you start the car and don't have a seat belt on have been deemed bluddy annoying) and the lack of tiptonic mode disappointing.

Overall the consensus is that the VZ was a much better car.

We also have received a bunch of LPG Falcon wagons which people have been fairly happy with except for the reduced spacedue to the relocation of the rear tyre.

Has anybody else heard similar complaints about the VE?

My work isn't exactly Ford crazy either two people own old GTS Monaros and their are more Commodores in the carpark than Fords.

Yeh, but thats only because the VE is new. Everyone that wanted a BA got one years ago. Like me, for example.

And I like the interior of my VX SS more than the base model VE. They aren't much chop at all.

The VZ looked better in the base models, but the sports / higher end calais models look way better in the VE.

The worse thing for VEs is mudflaps, they look shithouse!!

Sounds like a billion dollars well spent? the public should be made aware of these faults and maybe this is the start of the 'VE Holden Lemon'. They might be able to fix some of them in the next model but not the A Pillars theyre gonna have to stick with them.

Wait till you see the new Falcon, the A pillar is that thick for a good reason.

this is true because it helped improve stability and driving dynamics, all of the journo's who drive them rave about how rigid the VE is, but many of the customers don't seem to like it. If they loose the pillar they will loose the rigidity that enthusiasts love

I always laugh when I see a VE Omega. What a crap looking car. VZ was much better looking, bar the SS and Calais V which look ok in VE.

I read that the 3.6 litre engines lack grunt compared to the old 3.8, there have been quite a few complaints from customers who think the old Buick powered models were better, according to the Herald Sun Drive section. I thought the Buick lacked grunt so the Alloytec jobs must be lacking a bit, they also drink the fuel.

I personally think the VZ looke more aggresive now the VE looks like a mentally retarted hick I hope they don't ruin the look of the XR's and GT.

I haven't driven a VE yet but if it doesnt drive better than a VZ then its got a real big problem. The VZ was really showing its age by the end, and was, to be honest, an ordinary drive in most forms short of a HSV.

From reading the rave reviews of the VE in the motoring press, its supposed to drive WAY WAY better than the VZ (as it needed to). I for one reckon it looks far better than the VZ in all models other than Omega, which just looks plain, fat and ugly.

If you look at a VE next to a VZ or a BA and compare the door gaps for example. The VEs gaps are narrow, straight and parallell. The VZ/BA gaps are like the grand canyon in comparison. My vote goes with VE, by a fair margin. Even with its wheezy gutless V6 lump (at least it was in the VZ). Hope I'm not let down when I finally drive one.

You gotta remember the ve is still new so most of the faults will probably be phased out with the ve 2 ect. I reckon the orion will suffer alot of release problems to just due to being new.
