Beat me to it, i was going to post up a thread about it.
Still not 100% on the interior, but the Mondeo looks pretty sharp, especially the side profile. Euro made, nice dynamics, choice of engines, i just hope they get the price right, guess base ones will be around 28/29k.

Tucked underneath with the wipers, gives a nice clean look to the bonnet.

they probly don't need to be as the plastics don't get as much belting from the sun compared to euro country's.

Can't believe it's taller and wider than a Falcon!!!
The previous Mondeo's didn't look much bigger than a Focus. It's a very clean looking car but for the Falcons sake I hope it fails. Remember the Taurus and Mondeo were introduced last time to make way for the withdrawl of the falcon or at the very least the switch to FWD. The Falcon has been running nearly 50 years and has made Ford a HEAP of money but in the end Ford is a business run by accountants who worship at the shrine of Toyota. 7.5 seconds to 100 kays for the I5 turbo in the Mondeo is not very impressive that's about the same as a base model BF Falcon. Does anybody know if there is a Duratec V6 option in Europe? |

Adding another great car to the range will make Ford stronger, attracting a different type of customer who may not have considered Ford before. Just because they are similar in size, doesn't mean it will canabalise Falcon sales. This is a great addition to Ford and I hope it goes well. Selling 1000 per month or more.

Cars in general have grown...look at the current Honda Civic for example and compare it to civics 10-15 years ago. Im guessing interior room wouldnt be as good as a falcon?

Hey it might be a brilliant car and might add many more sales but you can't tell me Ford head honchos haven't wanted to replace the Falcon with an imported FWD car and I think if Mondeo takes off they will be looking at their options.

Yep, Mondeo looks a corker on paper and in pictures, cant wait for a test drive.
Ford MUST take advantage of this car and HAMMER Camry with clever TV advertising. Just belt the thing about it's ears until Aussies know that the Camry is a ****weak excuse for an automobile. Get this thing out there and let is parade about, and then tie it in to the Falcon and keep it at the top of the passenger car tree. The new Falcon ute ad restore my hope for a decent advertising campaign, it's hilarious. |

We are in the process of looking for a new "mid sized" car at the moment. We pretty much had made our mind up on the Mazda 6 MPS but this may change our mind. What is the release date?

Went into the dealer yesterday looking at new cars. Asked about the Mondeo on when and how much. Low 30k starting price and onwards. 3 variants should be available as stated in article ..... the 4T, 6TD, 6T. Available from Oct so looks like a new one will be the Territory. They may be a nice car but compared to the pricing for the Terri ....... : (I know I know ..... very different cars though)
