Default radio code

do i have to take my car to ford for the radio code, i just picked my car up from getting my clutch and brakes done. went to turn on the radio and it comes up saying code. must be due to having the battery disconnected or something.

Yes, you will need to take your rego papers and some ID into Ford. Some dealers do it for free, some charge up to $40 for looking it up on the computer. You could also try ringing ford customer care (1800 Ford Care, I think) and they may give you the details if you give them the VIN.

Other options are it may be in your owners manual, or try taking the radio out - it may be written on top. You are looking for a 4 digit code.

Hi Champ,
Check your book in the glove box for the radio code 1st up, if no good the go to your Ford dealer armed with your Vin Number and they'll give you the number.

The more times you try to code it, the longer it takes to get the new code in.

I was trapped like this just recently, and I had to leave the ignition on Acc for 30 mins.
The punched the code in and it was all good!

ok thanks yeah i checked all through the books and the space in the back of the owners manual where is should be is blank.

i might give ford care a call, i want to listen to music on the way to work tonight. or i could just wind the window down and listen to the 5l

It wont be in the back of the owners manual, it'll be on a little card inside the sleeve the handbook is in if you get me.
