Default For the people who have a thing for Salt and Pepper squid or squid in spicy salt

Hi,

I realise this may have limited appeal, but I travel allot with work. I make a piont of having great food when I am on the road, it makes travelling all the more enjoyable. One of my favourite dishes is salt and pepper squid sometimes called squid in spicy salt. I like aything with hot chilli though.....

Of all the places accross inland NSW the best I have found was at a little chinese restaurant in Wellington.
In Sydney - the palace chinese in Piccadilly towers i hard to beat (try their soft shell crab too)

That was GREAT!

So what you are asking is if you have an automatic licence even if it is upgraded to manual automatically can it be upgraded manually by sitting for a manual test and if passed the automatic licence is automatically upgraded but if failed is the automaic licence automatically failed as well and do you have to read the road safety manual to sit for the manual upgrade or does the automatic licence test of the road safety manual automatically cover the manual test as well?

You're all wrong! The chef from Guidi's Italian Kitchen (currently moonlighting at the Lazy Lobster in Brighton), does the best salt and pepper squid.
As well as BBQ'd calamari.

Luckily I get to taste test it quite often as part of our quality control practice in the restaurant. hehe

Guidi's is currently closed for relocation, (was in Peakhurst West, off Henry Lawson Drive).

The Lazy Lobster is on the Grand Parade at Brighton.
If you come down Bay St, and turn right at the lights, it's in the first group of shops, near the gelato bar.

Chef's name is Gavin. Top bloke!

I have not tried the places you are mentioning. I will try and get to them!

I must say, after reading your replies, I have decided to defrost some squid tubes.

If in Brisbane 'The Vietnamese Restaurant' in Chinatown has ace S&P squid, but the peace de resistance is the deep fried crispy skinned duck with chinese mushrooms. ooo baby, what they lack in imagination for the name they make up for in the food.

i used to work for a chef that now owns his own cafe in nelson bay.

they do the best salt and pepper squid. it has a hint of lime and lemon juice and zest in the dry rub (the stuff that gives it the coating) and serves it with potato wedges and summer salad (with mango slices and other summery things) :

the place is bistro mix, 13 nelson towers, victoria pde nelson bay (opposite the tourist info place)

he taught me well, because my missus loves it when i make it at home. :

I am also partial to middle eastern foods.

Since there are some obvious foodies here I will share:

This shop is in a mall in Albury NSW, there are stuffed capsicums, dolmades (aka vine leaves) stuffed zuchini, stuffed eggplant.

They will give it to you with yoghurt, hommus, garlic sauce lemon juice, even their hot chilli paste.

I look forward to going to albury just to buy some.......

ahh that looks good...

I love salt and pepper king prawns, has to be one of the best tasting things on earth, apart from a nice piece of lamb fresh off the spit with some tzatziki on the top...

Also i reccomend salt and pepper lobster, and ginder and shallots lobster, had that for lunch last year with my boss and few other colleagues at a chinese place in hurstville.

the dolmades in that pic look like the tinned ones...i cant stand them , the best ones i had were made by my Yiayia(Grandmother)...werent as oily and were bigger.

this thread is making me hungry...
