16K with 130000 is a bit much. With petrol prices the way they are and everything, I'd say you will be lucky to get $12k.

Hey Mr AU, hows about a trade for a 5 speed I6! :P
When I was looking at XR8's at the start of the year, the car yards had 16-17 on the SII manuals and were having trouble moving them. So I think by now the you would have trouble getting that much. Then again, its all down to how much someone is willing to pay. Evan |

It may be fully optioned dude but because its an AU with a bit of k's on the clock i don't think u would get 16grand. It all depends on the person that is desperately wanting one and how much they are willing to pay...

if you can find the right buyer you'll get it it won't be someone after a run around to just do the shoping but an enthusiast . why are you selling it?

AU2 au xr8 black, manual, leather and sunroof is the au i was looking for at the start of the year lol never thought id find one with the lot.. never till now. i rekon 16g is a great price for someone who is looking for a nice au xr IMO any lower makes me wonder what other falcons are ppl expecting to buy for 16g? too cheap for a ba xr.. give it a go on carsales or ebay, personally i dont think you will have too much trouble but as stated some ppl tend to be put of by petrol prices but oh well, i go through a tonne of it lol but its worth it!
chris.

Face the facts mr_auxr8 , you car is nice , looks tough , goes hard , but factor in the price of fuel to power the V8 , and the Idea that you can get a BA Xr8 for a couple of grand extra , your never going to get the price you want.
Private Sale , you Probably get about $12k for it , but anything less , dont be shocked and anything more , Your In Luck Cheers Daniel

something i know first hand
if your gonna advertise it sell it for 16k but put must be sold this month..etc if you get hits its because are interested in the car, not necessarily because the price is good.....sell them the car for what it is than neg a price which both parties are happy with... no good selling at what everyone else is or what dealers in another state are doing thats their cars not yours, but be prepared to lose a few dollars - you can go down in price not up! clean the car, no good having it dirty and saying ill clean it when you buy...they already no what it looks like fix any real issues, have the roadworthy on the car from the day you decide to sell, again no use finding out your in for a new whatever after youve made the deal oh and you could try the "kidnap" approach and make them test drive it (for the serious buyer) just take them for a drive, pull up and let them drive it...it works for most car dealers (its done without telling them too much, just say jump in....drive to a place and let them take over...if they want to get home theyll drive, if they like the car theyll pretty much say yes or neg with you) anyways sorry if thats already been discussed but just thought id share whats worked for me (im not in the car business though...in electrical retail same concepts work)

good luck with the sale.
just remember though, the longer it takes, the less its worth. dont forget the Orion is coming out soon so a lot of people will be holding off till then. oh, once the Orion is out, your car just lost even more value. personally, if you get offered $12-13000 then take it and dont look back. |

IMO mr auxr8 don,t take any less than what you think is a fair price for your car , but make sure you take into account its condition and the extras. As for the previous comments about fuel prices , costs of running a V8 won,t bother anyone who wants a V8 badly enough.

I'd advertise it for $15k. If it's in really good nick I'd give you $13-14k for it. If you put eyelids on it, I won't give you any more than $10k.
