Im in the middle of an, au XR to au2 XR front bar conversion.
Problem is that the front bar sticks out (5mm) where it bolts up to the guard, anyone got any tips or advice 4 me?? Ive noticed that the bolt which is apart of the au2 bar, and also the metal bracing around it is bigger than the au1 bar. ie pushing the guard out more. Should I drill out the rivets (I think they are rivets) to remove the bracing and bolt and swap them over? This is the only reason I see as to why it isnt sitting flush. The au1 bar lines up fine. This is in the wrong section most likely, but I think I would get more of a response here Any help will be great |

I did a AU2 XR conversion to a AU1 Futura wagon a few years ago and had no problems but it sounds like you might be on the money with the bolt and bracket theory...I guess you're lucky that you've got both series bars there that you can compare. Let us know how you get on...cheers Linz.
