Talking My new TYPHOON

I am one happy fella...

For those of you that have been following, after 18 months of searching for the right one, I finally found her in SA.

2005 BA MkII F6 Typhoon in Mercury Silver (35,000kays)
Genuine Bonnet bulge
Brembos
Capa Flash Tune with larger injectors

Drove her from Adelaide to Melb, then on the Spirit of Tas to bring her home to Hobart.

Car is just immaculate. Not a single stone chip, scratch, dent. No oil leaks. No diff clunk (thank God). Interior is perfect. Accelerates like the hand of God is pushing you!

Pics as promised.

Easy Al....the ute stays for sure. Wifey gets the green bullet. She's already got the number plate sorted out..."NOT HIS" - she won't even let me take my shift light with me!

Yeah, I will keep the Number plate in Tas. I really like it. short and simple and nothing to attention grabbing!

Plans are to:-
First off, get it tinted - darkest legal (booked in for friday)
Currently, she is 288rwkt and 800nm. Further mods will be:-
Intercooler (some interesting choices out there now but will spend up to $2K)
Full custom dump, hi-flow cat and exhaust system (no expense spared)
BOV (nothing too ridiculous)

Down the track I would like to go Billies all round...although, those Tiens sound pretty good too.

Xforce Tripod gauges arrived today from Aussie Car Enhancements. Boost/oil temp/oil pressure. Anyone installed these themselves? How hard can it be? they look great I reckon :-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP_LAY5GsXE

Would love 350rwkt. Would I need tougher valve springs for those levels?

I would also like to dress up the engine bay a little.

God I love this car. ANY EXCUSE TO DRIVE!

I had issues only at around 340 rwkw, use Crow race springs if you are changing them.
Congrats very nice ride....

That car was a local F6 near my place in Highbury I believe. Good to hear it's gone to a good home.

That car, that colour, those kays' and specs is exactly what is on my wish list for next year.

Can you tell us how much you paid for it?

Just because I'm curious and it's not because I'm trying to stir anything up, just the wording intrigued me, what constitutes a genuine bonnet buldge as opposed to a non-genuine one?

Love the look, it's on my short next car list.

I assume by genuine he's refering to a FMC factory steel bulged bonnet intended for a XR8/GT model. The bonnet is not an aftermarket reproduction item made from carbon fibre etc.

Car Bra was $440 delivered. Best thing I could have got for the long trip (1,300kms!!!!) - you would not believe the crap that it accumulated. I had insects caked on half a centimetre think! at night, they all flock to the warmer roads. In some parts, it was so thick with insects that it sounded like driving through hard rain. Not to mention the oncoming traffic stones that get thrown up with every second vehicle being a frickin Roadtrain. I'd rather it stuck to the front of the car bra than all through the intercooler. Plus I reckon it looks hot. It will be going on for any trip longer than a couple of hours.

Paid mid 38K for it. Yes, genuine factory bonnet bulge - not an aftermarket copy.

The ride home from SA to Vic was pretty tame. It was pretty heavily policed but I still got to have the odd squirt. It was when I arrived in Tassie that the real fun started. Hit the back roads in Devonport with a friend who met me at the port. I think at one stage I got slightly airborne off the crest of a hill! scary . Cracked 250km/h on an open straight with clear visibiliy and me the only car on the road. didn't do that again in a hurry. It was just effortless.

Have not been able to wipe the smile off my face. The tripod gauges go on next week and getting her nicely tinted this friday so some more pics to come.

Hey Quasi - thanks mate - just set that pic as my desk top!

Thanks for all your comments guys.

LOL!

Never really had the chance to do anywhere near that in Sydney in my XR8 and I've owned the damned thing for nearly 3 years now. Time to try and rustle up a track day. :P

Nice ride mate, and good price for what you got.

Although its a little late now, I spend $600 on a 3MMM clear plastic product that is all over the front of my Typhoon including bumper, bonnet around 12inches up, back of mirrors, and 50cm back from side skirts. This is the third car I have put this on and its excellent.

This product is mostly put on Ferraris, Lambos and the likes......yep Fords too
