Default XR8 Hesitates - Problem?

Hi everyone. I recently brought a series 2 AU XR8 auto with about 100,000k's on the clock. It is a beautiful car and I love to drive it. Ive noticed a couple of times when driving if I accelerate hard it seems to hesitate for a second (long enough for it to be uncomfortably noticable). I tried looking through some old posts but I couldnt find much on it. Is this a common problem? What could be the cause of the problem? I originally thought it might be the adaptive shift not being use to how I wanted the car to react but today i jumped on the accelerator from a stop, it took off, built up a bit of speed and as it changed into second it hesitated (almost like it was choking) then it finally changed the gear. Thanks for the help guys.

i have always thought that because auto gear box is using liquid its going to be slow to react because you have to get the liquid moving....but what do i know.

ive got a manual xr8 and the same thing happens too me some times, not when taking off, but while your gaining speed seems like a slight slip/miss. Not hugely noticble but enought to annoy u.

You can set your auto's adaptive shift so its on max all the time so it will rev out more but it wont stop your problem

Thanks for the help. Its starting to be less of a problem now that im use to it, im sure its just a slow reaction from the gearbox as mentioned above . Less noticable in max performance.
