Default YT/John Bowe Drive day - 1st annual

DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM

We sell high performance engine products to make your car faster, now we can offer you the ability to make your driving skills faster to match!

These days when a young guy is drawn and quartered for getting a car remotely sideways on the street it’s very difficult for a young driver to understand how a car reacts in an emergency situation and there is a point where 'Gran-Turismo' finishes and real world experience takes over.

Now having said that, Yella Terra is excited to announce a specifically designed driver training program during 2008. This driver training course will to give you an opportunity to learn about your car in a controlled environment with professional tuition.

As an owner & driver of a performance tuned vehicle, with or without enhancing products from Yella Terra, you are invited to participate in these special events.

We have locked in Saturday February 16th at Sandown Park Raceway in Dandenong as the location. Sandown offers a great spread of different corners as well as plenty of room for other events. The day starts of at 8:30am and continues to around 4:30pm with lunch provided so it’s a full day.

The driver training program has been developed together with Australia’s leading driver training provider, John Bowe Driving. The specially designed course will give you a chance to enjoy your car safely and help you to get the most out of driving your performance vehicle. The course will give you skills and awareness to use your car safely on the road right through to enjoying high speed track driving, building up during the activities of the day.

For those who have not attended any driver training since obtaining your licence, this is a great opportunity to understand some of the many aspects that make up good driving. The skills and awareness that you will develop on the driving course may even save your life one day. You will be amazed at how many things you will pick up from the day, even small changes to existing habits that you may never had thought of previously.

For those who have completed some driver training in the past then this is chance to continue the progression of the skills introduced previously. I am sure you will find that your participation will ignite the passion for performance and encourage you to enjoy your car in controlled conditions such as other training days or club activities.

For those who think you don’t need any driver training because you know it all, then you’re probably the ones who need it most. Open your mind to learning, just like the best sportsmen in the world do – Fernando Alonso, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer, David Beckham, etc. all have coaches to improve their games.

This driver training course has been developed to include aspects of defensive, advanced and performance driving and is a hybrid course developed by John Bowe Driving specifically for the Yella Terra group (not available to the public).

This event will be conducted at Sandown Raceway and will give you a chance to move safely from road driving to circuit driving. John Bowe Driving will have a minimum of 4 instructors on hand as this course will be made up predominately of driving activities, including;
 Threshold/Emergency Braking technique,
 Slalom Vehicle Control,
 Corner Lines,
 Drive Circuit Laps (controlled conditions),
 Motorkhana competition.
This course is conducted under controlled conditions to ensure that everyone can participate safely without the need for car upgrades (ie. brakes, fire extinguishers, helmets, race suits, etc). There is limited (if any) excessive wear on your vehicle and the skills developed will give you a chance to move safely and competitively towards full, unrestricted circuit activities.

This course is suitable for drivers of all levels of experience.

Pricing has been specially discounted for Yella Terra and is going to be around $375.00 including lunch. We only have limited numbers so if you think this is something you or part of your family could benefit (in other words everyone!) get in now!! It would make an awesome Christmas present and could, in fact, save someone's life.

Further Drive Program Information

- This course should not void insurance as it is a ‘driver training’ event with speeds limited/controlled, no timing of laps, one vehicle in activity per time, etc. (check with your insurer)
- Check your brake pad material and fluid (or have it checked for you),
- Dress for the weather,
- Increase tyre pressures to minimum 40psi, (approx 4-6 higher than manufacturer recommend)
- No loose items in the car,
- Check Oil, Water, full tank of Fuel.

Kind Regards,

Matt.

(PS could one of the kind moderators give this the shticky action!!)

What about something at Queensland Raceway? I'm certainly interested in this, hopefully many others would be as well.

This will be the 3rd one I have done with JB Course, an absolute ball.

Dont miss it for the sake of comparison to a FPV one, its not.

The older I get the more I learn, and this being another chance to learn.

OK guys, the drive day is only a couple weeks away.

I need firm numbers here ASAP!!

Joel? still keen?

The cost of the day is $350, Yella Terra is subsidising the rest of the cost!!

So you want to do the responsible thing??

Get your name or your kids names down today!!

Full payment will be required by the 15th of Feb but a deposit left anytime before that would be much appreciated.

Matt.

I did one of these in the red TT ute and it was great fun... not that you need that much power to enjoy this sort of thing.

I've done what sounds like the same course with JBD a while back and it was a good refresher on road rules and you got to practice some quick braking, measured against cones. Everyone got something out of it...
