If he wants a dipstick, he needs to remove the tube from the middle, and drill the one at the rear too. You can see where it goes as theres provision for it at the rear and front too IIRC.

You can block the old one with a tight fitting ball bearing and some stag paste, just tap it in with a hammer.

The Falcon rear axles are too long for the Cortina's im looking around for another option now, without weighing it down with a huge 9 inch.

Havnet done it so dont quote me on it, but I read somewhere here that Chrysler Centura diffs fit. They would be Falcon stud like the old Valiants I assume and Borg Warner 8 3/4. As I said, Im not sure of these things though.

Id be looking at shortening a Falcon BW if the Centura idea doesnt suit. Youd need some serious power to blow one in the lighter Cortina and centres are everywhere if you did. Cheap for LSD and no clutch packs, disc rear, plenty of ratios to choose.

Are you asking if a 302 or 351 windsor will bolt straight into a TE. um no it wont you will need a conversion kit. available from castlemaine rod shop. or a couple of other places. sometimes available on ebay. i believe the C4 will bolt straight in though.

FMC351:- thanks for that might measure up the centura diff. see how that goes.
