Can I fit a sash seat belt to the middle rear seat of a AU2 1999? Currently only a lap belt and the kids are getting bigger

Your car is a Series 1 if it's a 99 model. Is it a sedan or manual? My Series 2 sedan has the type of seatbelt you're after, so you'd need the rear parcel shelf off a S2 model, as that'd have the seatbelt unit already mounted. I'm assuming you'd simply use the existing clip, and undo the current buckle from under the seat. I would however be sure to check out someone's S2-3 to see exactly what their setup is as opposed to your own. I doubt it, but maybe the seat belt clip needs to be in a different position. This is from memory however the very first time this question has been asked. All the best with it. GK

It is a Series 1 Wagon hence no parcel shelf There is thread on the floor of the boot I have fitted a harness for a child not an adult. There are 2 lugs in the Boot ceiling that could be used,. The BA Wagon has the seatbelt coming out of the seat upright. I need to think of way to make the centre seat safer for the growing child. It would seem silly to grade up when all I need is an extra sash seatbelt.
