It can be hard to resist the pure hotness of a black XR8....he doesn't have internet access at the moment, so you'll have to guess which current Sydney AU XR6 owner has just bought himself a fully optioned silhoutte with black leather interior BA MkII XR8.
Congratulations dude. The V8's in those things are hot, and with the leather and sunroof it sounds like a pretty sweet ride

IMO, there are some things the B series XR8's do much better than the AU XR8's (and some things i've heard they dont do so well), but i'll let Stiddy explain his own reasons when he is back online ;)

For me the interior is more with it in the Bseries apart from as you mention the plastics look cheaper compared to AU. Stock for stock in performance well if the Boss8 was much better I would have been in a GT long ago 8cyc Ford engine notes at mid torque are to die for be it Clevo/Windsor and Boss.

He sounded pretty impressed with its current performance, but has already been onto Chris at Bluepower about an airbox and a tune.
Hopefully he can get it to the track soonish to run a time.

Knowning Stiddy's driving ... I think he needs to strengthen the driveline ... as from what i ahve heard ... the AU was much better in that department over the B-series ... especially diffs.

I am pretty sure the design of the diff in the BA is stronger (I plan on replacing the diff in my ute with one from a B-series XR6T/XR8 when it pops), it just sounds like they where assembled by blind monkeys on crack....
Stiddy's BA is an auto....should be a little more gentle on the driveline (at least until he runs it at the track with 4000rpm converter, 4.11 gears, and slicks :P )

Hey guys,
Yes!! Ive got a sexy looking immaculate black full optioned BA auto..I wanted an auto. Leather interior, sunroof, electric everything, nice big brakes and a sound that you would kill for. I love it and even in stock trim it goes like the clappers.. I am more than impressed with how well it goes for a stocka. Mods are coming over the next month or so. I want to run it on the dyno and strip stock first and see what she does. The AU XR6 i've still got, and dont think I can part with just yet. Its still my pride and joy, slightly faster on take off than the boss(for now), and is alot more agile, so much easier to throw it around. Alot of dollars have gone into it and I dont regret doing it at all. As much as I hate to admitt it, the BA is a better car in many ways. Sorry JC lol.. Not to worry guys, Ive still got a T3 on my list of cars to get. I get my licence back in 3 and a bit weeks, I can't wait to get either or both (get a mate to drive one) out on a cruise. Cheers guys, Matt. |
